Fly Floatants

Recommended Posts

Hey raiders,

Any recommendations for fly floatants? I don't think i can get down to a tackle shop but have been reading that stuff like vaseline and silicone spray works. I'll just be using a cotton swab or cotton balls for makeshift bread flies for mullet

Cheers

Albert

Instead of using cotton, use small chunks of polystyrene or bean bag peas.
No need for floatant or to tie, just feed the hook through and you’re good to go.

I guess it's time to raid the bean bag chair

I'll try both the cotton swabs and the bean bag beans

I’m not 100% sure Albert, but if it floats, I’d assume it would work.
I just use small chunks cut off a polystyrene fruit box or those white, figure eight things that is used to protect packages.
