12 mile reef

Planning going out wide tomorrow with very good conditions, I usually go to long reef, my boat is 4.6m and has 50L fuel tank, but want to go to 12 for the first time how long does it usually take u guys to get to 12 mile and how much fuel do you go through? Have 50hp Johnson, 4 Stroke

Bit hard to relate one boat to another, all sorts of motors use different amounts of fuel.

Not advisable in a 4.6M boat. Westerly winds have a nasty habit of getting much stronger than forecast. There is not much lee effect when you are that far out.

50HP, Johnson 4 stroke? Can’t remember a 50 4 stroke, I remember the old Johnson/Suzuki stopped at 70, (I thought) but I might be wrong, it’s years ago now.
