Lake Conjola in March

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Im heading Lake Conjola in mid March this year, what's the fishing like at that time of year? (Ill be in a boat). Are the flats worth fishing? Better in deeper water? Any help would be awesome. Don't fish saltwater often but have caught plenty flathead in Lake Macquarie over the years, so familiar with the techniques.

Cant help with the fishing there. But i have been earlier this year. We anchored around the steps at night near the caravan park. Turned on my headtorch and had a look around, and there was a freakin head just sticking above the water looking back at me. Yelled at my wife to have a look but it dipped underwater.

I keep telling myself it was a seal or sea lion.

Water will be still warm in March, should be Whiting on the flats and beach, Flathead lurking around any drop off or weed bed edges. Pump some Nippers or get some Beach Worms for best results. Not too sure of crabbing rules, but it would be worth crabbing if it’s legal (I’m pretty sure it is)
