  1. Gamagatsu Live Bait hooks Size 9 for your livies. Depending on what sort of rig you are using. For me I usually use Mustad Penetrators or Big Red's snelled.
  2. The rod is perfectly fine. Depending on where you are fishing Id double check the length. If you decide to fish of the rocks then I would get a 10ft just to clear you from the rocks when fishing. Other then that, then the rod is perfectly fine.
  3. Saltiga Spartan is a very nice rod to go with your Saltiga. Whats your budget for the rod anyway? Around 500-800 or 1k+. The Spartans are about 1150-1200 depending on where you buy it. For around 500-600 you should be able to pick up a Daiwa Saltiga GT rod. The Wilson Venom rods are very good as well. You should check them on youtube, deadlifting 40kgs or something. Pretty awesome blanks. Goodluck with your purchase.
  4. Any 6-10kg rod would be suitable for your reel in my opinion. Mono or braid is up to you however I personally recommend braid, 20-30lb is fine for what your doing. Braid with a thin diameter of about 0.18mm will allow you to fit alot on your spool. If your going mono, 20lb would be good as well.

    New Reel

All the reels you have listed are way to heavy. I currently fish with a Daiwa TD SOL 4000 reel with 30lb braid. I land bonnies around 70cm mark and alot of rats as well. And this is of the rocks. Depending on how much money you wanted to spend. i would definitely look for 4000-5000 size reel to match with your 10ft rod. A good quality reel in this range would cost you around $300. In regards to braid, 30lb braid would be suitable for what your fishing for unless you wanted to live bait then id probably use 50lb otherwise you won't be able to cast far. If you want to fit more braid onto your reel then go for something with a thin diameter. Im using Rovex Viros Braid at the moment and I can fit 300yds onto my reel without any backing. Ive made the mistake in the past of buying a heavy reel, casting all day and holding your rod is an absolute pain on the arms. Hope my advice helps you.
  8. Alot of bonnies running through there. You can try pillies on a float or unweighted or what i see alot of people do is spin with white squid skirts of a float. The gates open and close at a certain time so just remember to leave before the gates close which i think is around 7:30-8:30 ( correct me if im wrong).
  9. OH SNAP! I totally agree.. There is no way you can compare a towing vehicle to a sports car..
  10. Mugen Shiipou Ishidai... Sexiest rod ive ever seen in my whole life.

  12. Hey ray. I am pretty sure I walked straight past you at Avoca near the carpark a few weeks ago. Didnt know whether to say hi or not coz didnt want to make a fool of myself incase you thought i was weird or something.
  13. How much are you planning to spend? IMO. I personally wouldn't live bait with a 30lb rod. Especially for Kingies, depending on the thickness of your braid , a big kingie (if fishing landbased) can be ruthless on your spool. On the other hand for plastics then either would be fine. Perhaps you should check out the Daiwa Saltist Demon Blood or the Saltist Bay Rubber series, very light and alot of grunt. The TD Saltwater is also a very good rod. Ive landed some legal kingies on that rod and dead lifted salmon of the rocks. Whatever choice you make, good luck and hope you catch something big.
  14. Slim Beauty all the way. Very tight and strong but also goes through your guides very well.

  19. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has ever fished Greencape landbased. If so how long is the walk from where you park your car. Google Earth is not very clear.
  20. You own a Spartan? Mate thats gangsta. I personally wouldn't spend that much on a rod but the spartan is a sex rod.
