  1. Im towing my 4.5m runabout with an old 97 ford telstar 2.2 lite manual. I can say that this car is not suitable for towing but I only travel short distances so it basically does the job. Looking at upgrading to a commodore so i can tow on the freeway
  2. This is the first time ive heard of it.
  3. I would probably go to Avoca Rocks which is about 5-10min from Terrigal. It can get quite packed out but if you get there early morning then im sure you can get urself a decent spot. Just check the swell etc because that spot can be quite dangerous. Avoca has all the fish mentioned in your post. You can live bait there if there isn't too many ppl around, bottom bash or fish on the surface. I usually catch tailor, bream, salmon, bonnies there alot.l The last time i went there was around September 2010 and there wasn't any algae but bring cleats just incase. The entrance is always packed out these days and I find that quite discomforting to fish. Its overfished as well. Good luck, hope the info helps.
  4. Back in Sydney in one week.. cannot wait to hit the coast

  5. For about $180 you can buy the rod holders designed for rock fishing. It can pretty much hold itself into any sorta crack. Looks very very good biut not sure of the quality.
  6. Hi everyone, Just wanted to know how the weather has been these past 2-3 weeks. Ive been in Vietnam since early December. Hoping to go for a quick fish as soon as I get back.
  7. Ive only been boating for about a year ... my mistakes were forgetting to put the bungs back in, leaving the muffs on and the most frustrating is driving all the way to the ramp and then only realising as I was reversing the boat down the ramp that I had left the boat keys at home.
  8. Hey thats really weird looking. Ive never seen such a thing in my life. Looks mean though
  9. Megabass rods wil set u back a bit over the 1k mark.

    Stradic Ci4?

Thumbs up for me for the stradic . I own the 2500 ci4 and its landed me some big salmon and bonnies. Ive got mine on an Okuma Precision X Tournamenet 7ft 4-7kg. Very nice and light.
  11. My sol 4000 had the same problem but my bearings were rusted because of a massive wave that hit it. I sent it back to Daiwa and they replaced all my bearings with Certate bearings and gears. Cost me 75 buks but now its fine.

    FNQ fishing

Im currently in Vietnam at the moment and I bought over 3 rods. I put the rods in a rod tube. Just check with your airline what is the maximum height the rod tube can be. In my case i was travelling with jetstar and their maximum height for my rod tube was 1.7metres or something. The rod tube must be in your check in luggage, not carry on. There will be a special area where you can put your rod tube when checking in due to the height. I bought 3 rods, 3 reels, 2 boxes of lures and one box of hooks and swivels. Everything was alright.
  13. I am also planning a trip to NT in May. Ive heard many incredible stories about that place. People spinning of the beach with stella's and saltigas getting busted of on Spaniards. A story like that makes me druel. If you do decide to go NT, let me know how you go. Have you considered going to WA? Places like Quobba, Kalbarri and Exmouth. If you wanna go north QLD then perhaps you should look at places like Cairns. Just gota be careful of sandflies and crocs if you fishing land based.
  14. If you got the cash, perhaps you can purchase some japanese domestic reels. Some rods i hear are very good quality over there in which they aren't available here in Aus. I think maybe Lures would be cheaper in Japan
  15. Are we even allowed to make holes?
  16. I currently use a Wilson Live Fibre 11" with my TLD 25 and I think its a great match. It is true that its a bit heavy to carry around but the length makes it fantastic for LBG of the rocks.
  17. I agree. If the Saltist is better then the Stella then the price difference wouldn't be so significant. $300 compared to $999. I myself own a Saltist and mark my word it is a good reel. However, I wouldn't dare to say the Saltist would be the A-Grade reel. At the end of the day in the high range of reels its the Stella Vs Saltiga
  18. Mosquitos are abundant in vietnam....soo itchy!

  19. I usually just purchase the "tweed bait" brand for pillies. I try to find the ones with the smaller pillies because I find they fit better on my hooks. Im not sure about WA pillies though. But the ones Ive bought have always worked for me and done the job very well.
  20. I wanna go home
