Awesome flattes- using bait or lures?

I fish the Hawksburry a lot and find that at the dead of the tide i seem to get a lot of bites - mate reckons its because the waters not mooving as fast

Hello all Just wondering if it was just me or has anyone else had any trouble with rocket launchers By trouble i mean loosing rods from them while driving I have lost 1 when i went over a large boats wake. didn't think that a rod would come out of them but i am going to make a catch for them now, was thinking some stainless wire and a safety latch. Will post pics once done.

Great set up Roberta I was thinking of getting a Kayak a little while ago but now have decided to build my own sit on top. Will post pics once i get started on it which may take a while as the wants me to finish current projects.

Hey All Thinking of going out in the harbour on Monday as have a day off work but was wondering if the kingfish are still in the Harbour and in what numbers. Taking out a mate that's never caught one and i was hoping to catch my first legal, have a downrigger and was thinking maybe rigging around the heads. Any advise would be really appreciated. Jono

Pulled up the bigger flattie like that - weird, one of them had some parasite in its stomach as well - looked like something out of a horror movie Thanks Ray R Will give it a go - thinking about spending a whole day just looking for squid - heard its a good way of really working out the best way of catching them. Cheers andrewgibbons only tried in pittwater once and not for squid - spent the good part of a day downrigging with yakka for kingies with no luck, must give it a go Cooked up the fillets the other night YUM - so fresh

Hey Everyone First post ever, love the site - already addicted Spend most of my time out on the water in the Hawksburry, and am finally starting to reap the benefits as am now averaging a 50+ flattie every time i go out. Went out last weekend and managed this nice bag Still trying to crack into the Hawksburry squid though and not having any luck, using good jigs but not sure were to try, have tried around barrenjoey and jerusalem bay but nothing, -any tips or suggestions would be awesome.
