WELL done mate....
That 77cm Salmon must have put up a good fish...
The weather in the background looks horrible, BUT yet, the best time to fish
-

CALAMARI rings yum OR should i say Jew fish bait
-

-

Persistancy is the key

Why will you need to change jig heads mate? Your poling them in with your own gear and knowledge so just just keep doing whatever your doing. Hopefully this rain didnt mess things up in that area which to my knowledge has been dirty all winter due to the never ending rains!
Great fishing mate!
Musty
TRUE good point...
Ill let you know tomorrow if the rain ruined the fishing
I need to catch a jew on a plastic, its been ages...

I went there just once and never again...
Plenty of carp there, seen people fly fish for them.. Must put up a good fight
Other then that, i managed to score a couple of EPs or BASS, cant remember as they all look alike
Land based its ok, but if you have a boat that would be better..
-
THANKS Iceman, i will need to change jigheads.
EPs and BASS they ALL look the same to me.
Ive noticed EPs have abigger mouth as well.

ONCE again a big thank you to John and Dave for a great day out.
As per usual I brought my lucky GREEN jumper (evident in every single fish photo I have/own) and luck was on our side.
Got busted of several times at the Browns, which was disappointing as we knew the fish on the other end were nice and solid. Dirty Makos.
What can I say my cherry was POPPED, thank you fellas, it was roughs, yet memorable.
Reeling in the YFT was an experience to remember.
By the time it landed on the deck, I was out of breath, my legs were giving way and arms were aching in pain.
NOT THAT IM COMPLAINING
I can only imagine a Bluefin reaching the 100kg would do.
John and Dave where skull dragging them in like no tomorrow.
The incident with the gaff was a sight to remember.
I’m just amazed after gaffing the fish, it turned around, nearly pulled John overboard, bend & twisted the metal pole (gaff) and John refused to let go.
Well done mate, hats off to your solid arms.
John & Dave for their efforts should receive a MENTOR Badge.
Thanks once again, i learnt alont.
PS - Time to update my signature.

Thanks fellas....
The reel is a Shimano Stella 1000... Not new, just haven't used it... Was hoping to catch a few more Jewies on it...

Hey folks,
Met up with Bassboy and Rafinx on Thursday night for a quick session at chasing Jews.
Unfortunately we were unsuccessful. Sorry boys but it was good to meet you and put new faces to those usernames.
As a result i went the following morning for a quick flick at Chipping Norton to give my reel a good workout.
Upon arrival within the first few casts i was on, and it was like DEJAVU.
Managed to pull in close to x20 units of BASS and x6 ish EPs. Lost count!
Most of the units were nice and healthy, ranging from 35-40cm.
Funny thing was, more then 70% of the fish caught was on the same plastic that was demolished and barley usable
To my surprise another fisho joined the action, name is Daniel but forgot his forum username. NICE to meet you champ.
The fish were hitting hard and some of them had plenty of beef.
One of them managed to bend my hook, OR maybe the hook itself was worm away from the previous fish.
BTW - CAN ANYONE SPOT AN EP FROM THE BELOW PHOTOS???
ALSO went to the same spot Sunday late afternoon, for my mate to catch his first BASS on his new overhead setup.
He was rewarded with a solid specimen approx 37-38cm.
Rest of the afternoon was quiet and managed only x6 fish in total.

great sesh joco but you could have left some bass for me and stew........... cant wait to start targeting them at the local in the yaks again!
bring on the surface lures........
THERE is plenty of good fish in our local water system.... Im scared if Stewy comes up this way, he will catch them all
NEVER been fishing on a yak before... If you have a spare one wouldnt mind joining you...
IN the mean time, my plan is to target some Jewies on plastics Thursday night if anyone is interested...
