  1. Got to Rosville Ramp 6am and hit the squiding/yakka grounds. With 20 squid and a bunch of yakkas started fishing inside the harbour hoping things would be different compared to last week but there was no kings to be found inside the heads not even the 798 could pick one up. So we ventured outside against tsunami warnings lol We managed 4 kings and 3 bonito in half an hour of arrival, then the Revenue collectors turn up (NSW Maritme) got slapped with $100 fine for having expired flares and told to stay inside the heads. Day ruined as not much was happening inside the heads, caught a few more fresh squid for dinner a set of home. Anyone have an insight why the Kings are not in middle harbour?

  2. Nice fish guys, we were out on saturday and managed only one keeper of 78 about 6 64cm's and a few bustoffs!

    All caught on yakers though.

Inside or outside the heads?? We used yakkas to but only got a bonnie

  3. those squid dont look half bad they still have color / pigmentation

the eyes are still have some green in them although they are now white colored let us know how you go as i always freeze mine double bagged

Check out the report Sydney Kings, we didnt catch any fresh on the day and all were caught on 48hr old squid

  4. I dont freeze them just keep them in a cold fridge, air tight. The heads nearly always get hit by kings but ive noticed the strips are less effective over freshly caught squid tubes. And yes we still hit the squiding grounds early in the morning. But its always good to have a plan B if the squid dont bite on the day. In my experiance its all about how fussy the kings are on the day, as ive seen them turn there nose up at a freshly caught squid and other days they would hit my 4 day old (Fridged) squid

  5. Went out on the 25th, all started well with over a dozen squid in the live bait tank. Get to our first mark and bang! a small rat emmediatly. But that was all and for the rest of the day we watch our fresh bait get destroyed by pickers :mad3: Its been the most disappointing trip in a while

    How did others go??

  6. Just a quick post, went out the last two weekend in search of kings. Managed 6 fish on each outing, the majority taken on squid. Some also fell to yakkas and sluggos. Does anyone else notice the squid heads are more readily taken over a squid strip? As this is my first season chasing kings and starting to realizing how fussy and frustrating they can be even after busting your guts trying to find fresh bait

    Tight Lines every1

PS Can anyone help me out with attaching Photos, is 10mb the maximun file size?? :mad3:

  7. Good effort, we got onto the water about the same time but couldnt find one squid, caught a mixed bag though. Not the Kingy we were chasing and it was entertaining to see all the boats chasing the birds and school of fish feeding. Anyone know what they were??? Samon i take it as not much people were hooking up due to the small bait they were feeding on
