  1. Hey Mike, you just keep on nailing them! You guys heading out tomorrow? How far from browns? Heading out tomorrow and just getting all the info i can. Last year you put us straight onto the fins, you said 5nm east of browns and BANG, quadruple hookup! Cheers Herbie
  2. I thought jagging fish was illegal regardless????
  3. The company is called Watercraftmix.com, have you heard anything about them? It will be shipped in a container.
  4. Looking good Benny, hope to see you out on the water looking fresh!
  5. Hi Billy, thanks for the info mate. I have been thinking about the summer winter thing and i reckon you're right. Might be boatless for a few months so if anyone needs a deckie PM me! Haha! I am going to go over there at some point and check it out, wouldn't trust anyone buying a used boat from in another country. At least i'm on the right track with the type of boat! Cheers
  6. Hey Raiders, i'm looking at importing a Boston Whaler Outrage 230 from Florida. Has anyone got one of these who can give me some feedback? My current boat is a Marlin Broadbill which is great but need a CC to suit the styles of fishing i'm doing. It's just to hard to resist buying a US boat at the moment with the dollars strength. Got it all sussed as far as shipping goes and trailer permit etc. I'm heading over there in a month or so ( just waiting to sell current boat ) and if anyone who is considering doing the same wants to team up, twice the buying power for shipping, trailer etc could get some much better pricing. PM me if interested.
  7. Check out this article about 200hp head to head. Worth the read. http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/head-to-head-200hp-outboards1
  8. Well done! Nothing tastes like a fresh dollie! Which fad were you at?
  9. Hey Dave, I'm heading out tomorrow from Botany if you wanna come / follow. Probably leaving around lunch time or there after. Wind is supposed to get up to 15 knots max in the arvo but that's fine, just a slower ride home. I have a 6.1 marlin broadbill so plenty of space. PM me if you are interested. Cheers HM
  10. Hey Raiders, I've got a Marlin Broadbill and am looking for a few keen guys who have their own gear and knowledge. ( i dont wanna be showing people how to tie knots ) Fish out of botany bay, usually target kings, dollies and anything out wide ( not bottom bashing ). After knowledgable fisho willing to shot in for costs too. PM me and see how we go. Cheers HM
  11. Best to enjoy the fight and leave them in the water for sure. Sharks even small ones can make a mess of the inside of your boat in no time. If you like eating sharks then give it a good whack on the head with a baton.
  12. I would rather catch nothing than fish there. Good on you for getting a few but its not my cup of tea. Plenty of spots outside the heads that give much better results with no other boats!
  13. Headed out wide from botany. We were cruising past Mol point at about 10am and counted 35 boats within what seemed a 100m radius of the point. Stuff that for a joke!
  14. Hey Raiders, seems to be no problem fiding and catching the rats. I reckon there are good fish there you've just gotta get your bait past the ravenous little buggers! If they keep growing and stick around hopefully we might have a plague of 70+ cm fish to play with! Fingers crossed.
  15. You shoulda posted a pic of the girl skinnydipping too! Sydney is the best too! Convert some of those squid into hoodlums!
  16. Just dont buy that cheap stuff, Fireline as its not real braid. I like Tufline as it has a nice soft feel and the knots tie really well. Depending on the types of fishing you are doing, you can uni knot your leader and its pretty strong. I know some of the jap braid you have to bimini twist / albright and can be time consuming when you have a school of fish on the go. Just have a feel of the braid at the shop too. Global Tackle gave some good advice as they test some of the brands instore and advised me that Tufline was really good. Hop this helps. HM
  17. Hey Mike, some nice fish there mate - well done. You're the only one who's managed to get something decent lately! Last couple of trips i've just had a big fat donut..... There is always next time. Cheers on the report. Herbie
  18. Nice fin there boys, well done for the effort! Cheers on the report!
  19. Nice bluefin, cannot wait to get one myself oneday!
  20. Nice jelly bean! Hope you catch a thumper next time!
  21. I think you are on the money mate! We trolled until we found a decent temp break and got a solid strike and run on a deep diver halco laser 190 but unfortunately pulled the hooks. We found the break SE of browns, spotted birds diving and solid 20+ kg fish jumping out the water but they dissapeared and the weather was getting worse so we had to head back. We will find the break and then cube next time! Cheers Herbie
  22. Hey Mike, well done mate. Thats one kegger of a fin! Headed out yesterday for a donut! ( Stripies don't count! )
  23. We headed about 8nm east of browns and we got 18.6. Headed south from there ( SST charts supposed temp break SE of browns ). We got up to 19 degrees and we had the Halco 190 deep diver out and got a solid strike but pulled the hooks! We looped around and headed back NW to browns and on our way up we seen the tuna jumping, got so excited all for nothing! So now i have a bit more faith in the SST charts, well worth a subscription! Next trip we are not going to even bother heading near the carpark that is browns, just trying to find the temp breaks and work them. I think we may have seen you heading in towards browns? About 1pm i think as we were heading east? Good luck next trip!
  24. Hey Moonshine, We headed out to browns and beyond for a troll on wednesday 16th( yesterday ). A few stripeys and a good hit on a deep diver we had out. Found a temp break and in a short time seen diving birds and 20kg to 30kg Yellowfin jumping a metre clear out of the water! Approached them but in no time dissapeared deep! I've still got the vision of jumping tuna fresh in my mind now!
