  2. Not having to much luck down in the hacking are you mate I had a good crack at that system a few years back with similar results, now i just use the hacking to collect live bait before heading offshore. Mick
  3. Nice write up mate and i love the pics, friend of mine has a property down there at Marulan with frontage on the Wollondilly River. Ive caught a stack of Redfin in the deeper pools down there but never tried the flowing water for Trout, must give it crack next time i head down for a weekend. Mick
  4. How good is that!!!!! Good to see you got into a few fish mate, 60cm lizard is a cracker fish for those areas you fished!!!!!! Ps, Try and get some TT jig heads mate, they are a little more pricey than your average jig head but i guarantee they will never open up like the one in the pic.. Mick
  5. I had never ventured that far down river before either but have found 2 areas that look fantastic down there, will send you a pm on location The main sandflat at the entrance looks the goods mate, i had really small high tide when i was up there and alot of that area was still high and dry but another 30-40cm of water would have ther whole area covered nicely. Cant wait to get up there for round 2!!!! Mick
  6. Got the same prob down south mate, Most of fish traps down here have LFB and number stamped onto floats but i have noticed alot of traps close to the shore have nothing on them and they too use small black floats. Im guessing that traps that close to the shore are cray pots, have a chat to fisheries about it. Mick
  7. So thats what they look like!!!! Amazing bass mate, well down!!!! Love the last pic, you got your toe's and fingers working over time to hold that fish up for a shot Mick
  8. Certainly got those flats worked out for Bream and Trev's mate!!!! Well done on landing that trev on 2lb, top effort Mick
  9. I was starting to wonder why you hav'nt put up a post for a while???? Good to see your been getting stuck into some quality fish mate and the system is starting to come alive , those bass are stonkers!!!!! Mick
  10. Hey guys just got back from a 4 day trip up to Nambucca,Been Itching to get up there since sept but either work or poor weather stopped me from going up for a a fish. Planned to fish it with Musty but due to work commitments he also had to postpone the trip only a few days before we were planned to go up. Drove for half the night on weds so i could get a whole day in on thursday, weather reports were looking good leading ino the trip so i was getting excited for some great lure action over the next few days. Thursday morning i was on the water at 5.30am and started my paddle across the river to the mouth of Warrel Creek, the morning started off perfect with no wind and slightly overcast skys. Managed a few small flathead on plastics but recent rains had the river looking like choc milk and im guessing the fish had shut down with all the fresh coming down the river on the run out tide, swicth to surface poppers which i really had not to much success with in the past but only a few casts into the small rebel popper was smacked off the surface and i had on my first ever whiting on popper , continued with the popper for an hour and also nailed a nice bream and another small flathead. About mid morning on thursday the clouds rolled in from the west and south and within a hour the heavens opened in a major way and i paddled like solo man back to the ramp... It poured down for a few hours but the wind was still minimal so decided to hit Valla Beach with the old man, pulled a few worms and fished a nice little sand bar for a couple hours, the old man putting me to shame landing 2 nice whiting and 2 stud bream that put up a great fight in the surf!! Me 0 Friday we planned to Grab a mates boat and fish together for some lizards back in nambucca, after the average session near the mouth of the system the day before in the yak i decided to head further down towards Macksville and fish weed edges that drop off into deep water, the action was great and could'nt wipe the smile of my dads face for hours nailing about 20 plus flatties ranging from 40-50cm, kept a few for the table and headed back to the mouth for a shot at some whiting on the flats. By the time we made it to the entrance the wind had picked up to about 20kts and fishing out of a tiny 3.5m punt with a 8hp we dicided to call it a day. The wind picked up even more in the afternoon and stayed for the entire night!!!! Woke early sat morning (5am) and the wind was still blowing hard but we grabed the boat again and took of down the river to the same general area, fishing was very frustrating with the boat blowing around and could really only fish the area against the current which is always a pain in the arse. Fished the area for around 2 hours for 5 just legal flathead and a nice fish of 78cm, the wind was getting worse with some gusts easily hitting 30kts so we headed back to call it a day, it blew all day and night again This morning we were meet with another stiff NE so i decided not to head out but headed out with a mate who had just purchased a new boat so he was stinging to take it for a run a so was i, its a great little boat 4.35 stessle truck with a 60 yamie 4 stroke, all that is needed is a leccy and will be a serious fishing rig... Cant really complain about the fishing but the wind and dirty water certainly made fishing very tuff on this trip, fingers crossed christmas holidays we get better conditions Mick
  11. Nice one mate, i could see all the fish going nuts from towra this morning!!!! We were in yaks and decided not to go for the paddle accross the bay, we could see fish lunching out of the water and even dolphins getting in on the action. Good to here someone was getting stuck into them Mick
  12. Killer tomato squidgy fish for me to, 90% of the lizards ive caught in the Botany Bay over the last 6 weeks have fallen to them. Also shaker paddle tail plastics, pink/green mix 1/8 head size- 2,0 and 3,0 is a pretty good all round jig head for water between 2-5m, If your in the shallow stuff 1/16 is another good choice. I like a bit more weight so i can get the futher cast in and cover much more area per cast. Mick
  13. Great little session mate considering those awful conditions yesterday, few of those bream are crackers!!! Nice work Mick
  14. Maybe we need KLEENEX as a site sponsor Good onya Ray go and give them heaps!!!!
  15. Nice work Roy, Blackie on a surface lure???? Your a freak!!!!! Did you have a crack at the Maria pencils again? Mick
  16. Great little session mate!!!!! Fingers crossed i can get out there this weekend and have a crack at few..... Tides are perfect for some shallow water action!!! Mick
  17. Bought 2 a few weeks back mate and i end up removing split ring from the tow point, they swim a whole heap better without it. Hav'nt had chance to fish with them yet but heading north in a few weeks so will keep you posted on how they preform. What colour did you end up with??? Mick
  18. HA HAHAHAHAHAHAH Spot X's on the Georges!!!!! Thats the funniest thing ive heard all year...... Maybe you need to spend a little more time on the water then on the computer????? Hay who knows you might even find your own elusive SPOT X?????? ps, you might find i will be positioning the cam a little higher , hope you like tree tops and pretty Birds
  19. Thats a Beast!!!! Did you catch it?
  20. Great little session mate, going off the last few posts sounds like the bay and surrounds are starting to pick up nicely. Should be in for a great summer!!!! Mick
  21. Geeeeesus 40-45 fish in a session, thats unreal!!!!! Way to go pete
  22. Cheers for the replys guys Wrongbait- ive just recently purchaced that reel mate, its a Quantum Energy ei20(basically 2000 series). Honestly for a reel that cost 160-170 smackers you cant go wrong with it, all the things you would find on a very expensive reel and a third of the price. Full aluminum body,10 ball bearings, ceramic drag and has a titanium bail arm. The cam is a sony HDR-XR150 100+GB harddrive and a 6hour battery pack on it so i just set it up at the start of a session and let it role, its mounted on a base if a tripod with ive fixed with epoxy to the front of the yak, of corse it gets wet up front so i can only take it out when conditions are perfect, There is a water proof housing available for it but it cost 350 smackers. I have a wide angle lens on the way, so i can get more of the action in. Bit of fun and saves me mucking around with a camera when i go out. BASSBOY- Mate good luck with the exams, you must be stinging for a flick..... Lucky there's not much around at the moment
  23. Sounds like a great little session mate!!! How good do those trevs go in shallow water..... Any trev over 40cm is a cracker fish mate well done Mick
  24. Cant wait till the mother lover decides to latch onto the plastic mate!!!!! Imagine the facials im going to pull then!!!!
