  1. well done Roberta. Good bag of fish you managed there. Will smoke up nicely for you cheers Jas!
  2. G'day all, Well just returned from a great week up at Forster. So many racks to fish and not enough time to do so. Im only a newby with this SP fishing and this was to be my 1st attempt at fishing them. Managed to get out on the lake a few times up there. What a great waterway. Dolphins were seen everyday. And boy they seem big when you are only in a little rig and they come right next to you. Great times. Alot of the time was just spent motoring around and picking likely spots, getting my bearings and a feel for the place. Cant wait to get back there for another fish. Since stocked up with many more lures and colours that would suit the clear waters there a bit more I think. Well I did manage to get a fish on SP so thats my 1st goal achived. Didnt do to flash but was still great to be up there and trying it all out. Managed to get 4 x Bream with the best going 32cm and my wife managed a flathead around keeper size but released anyway. Roberta was great to meet you up there. Thanks for popping in to say hello. Congrats to Wendy and yourself. Managing a few nice fish there, well done. The accomodation was great. Full ocean views from our 2 story duplex. Big balcony, immaculate modern place in a very nice area. Unreal for $320 for 7 nights. Cheaper than the caravan parks. Will certainly be back up there. Cheers Jas!
  3. Well done guys. Might only be one fish but still a very nice one at that. A few good meals there for you. Cheers Jas!
  4. mate we were towing our 5.7m allison 189 with our VT series 2 commy. Have towed it to bermagui, port stephens, swr and the car has never played up at all. I dont have the oil cooler but I have been told MANY times by mechanic mates that it is the one thing I should fit just for peice of mind and to help look after the tranny. cheers Jas!
  5. Nice dollie on a hand line. Good to see. I fished Swansea FAD on the saturday and it was quiet. Managed 12 dollies and kept 8 of them for a feed. VERY quiet out there. Certainly a little different to the last few seasons at the FADS. cheers Jas!
  6. all good. Problem sorted. Finally worked out how to calibrate. It was a big 4 deg out which im guessing isnt normal but either way its reading correctly now. cheers Jas!
  7. Hey guys just after some advice. I have a new Raymarine DS600X sounder and the thing is WAY off with the temp reading I get off it. Does anyone know if it can be callibrated or not? The thing is about 3.5deg out. cheers Jas!

  11. Just spoke to Joe. Very glad to hear that he will be ok. A little cut and hurting a bit im sure. He was really appreciative of the good wishes from you guys. Like djmac said, you cant keep the big man down. I thought he may want to pass up on our upcoming trip but that was not an option. He is keen as so I hope we can get him a nice Jew for his efforts. Thats the kind of healing the man needs He is still bloody insisting on doing his bit to get things organised for our trip as well. Your a good man Joe. Hope you have a quick recovery mate and i'll see you soon. Thanks for letting us know to inhlanzi. Appreciate it mate. Hope to see you on the hawkesbury. I hear you may pop over to say g'day. cheers Jas!

  17. Hey guys, Well we headed out today from swansea. Winds were 15-20knts early on. Not much sea or swell so the run out was sweet with the wind from the SW. Djmac (colin) ended up staying in close for a troll. I headed out and trolled the shelf and mid norah canyons area along with 2 other club boats out there. HEADHUNTER tagged a est 80kg tiger on 15kg around 11am. Myself and the other club boat (KURLY) were both back in by 3pm with all zero's. Sea temp out there was 19.5deg. Weather was lush as the wind dropped to a nice 5-10knts. Spoke with HEADHUNTER at around 2.30pm who had just hooked up to another shark on 15kg. Unsure of the end result. There was a sighting of an est60kg marlin free jumping in around 30 fth at around 8.30am. Aside from that it was VERY quiet. As for the fuel. I run a 140 4 stroke on my 5.7m allison. Today the motor ran for 8hrs and would have gone through approx 70-80litres. Will let you know the actual amount when i fuel up again monday. cheers Jas!
  18. Hey bluecod. Thanks for the welcome. Changa doesnt really have a problem with any sites mate as far as i know. I know he chats on a few forums. I know the MB gives great advice for guys like me just tryn to catch a few fish and most of the guys are great so Ill certainly keep going back there. But anyway this is about norah and FIN, hopefully fin anyway, lol. Simon, I fish the middle canyon. I havnt been there for a few months now. From memory in our rig doing about 18-20knts takes about 1hr45min. I THINK. So dont quote me on it, lol. Its a bit over 30 miles. Anyway i will post a report after our trip tomorrow. Good luck to those havn a fish. Cheers Jas!
  19. Hey Simon, Like djmac has said we will be taking our boats out from swansea on saturday as long as the weather holds up. If its sweet we will fish the canyons but if its a bit so so then we may just troll 60-80fth area over some reefy ground. Mate my call sign is "thank the bank" and djmacs is "frenzy" so give us a buzz on either 27meg 94 or on vhf. Cheers Jas! PS and like he has mentioned moon island in close has plenty of yakkas on offer. just be carefull of the bomby on the outside edge of the island.
