Car is due for a service so i thought i would spend the weekend in the garage and do a few additional things to it for peace of mind (love a brother inlaw who's a mechanic- i might tell him soon that he's helping me.. replacing sump, rocker, rear main, maybe head gaskets if i / we could be bothered ) Forecast for the weekend: Hope everyone has a safe one! With the weekend only hours away what are we all up to?? I'm sure alot of us will be hitting the water on Sunday 11-04-2010 for the PIRTEK FISHING CHALLENGE, raising money for a GREAT CAUSE, but what will the target species be ????? Saturday will see sunrise @ 06:13 and Sunset at 17:39, with the 1st high tide being at 05:22am with a tide of 1.42m and 2nd high tide being @ 06:06am and being 1.43m. Sunday (D-Day) will see alot of us up and out the door before the "ROOSTER CROWS" with the sunrise being at 06:14am with the 1st high tide being 1.43m @ 06:06am and the second high tide being at 18:38am (38mins after comp ends) at a height of 1.4m. Wave and wind forecast looks ok also with an estimated wind speed between 17 - 20 knots (at this stage) with the sun trying to bust through the clouds on Sat and clearing for Sun which i think will be warmer than expected. BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE ENTERING THE COMPETITION ON SUNDAY I'm guessing there will be alot of boats out this Sunday so i ask us all to be aware of others, as they may not be aware or as experienced as you. With most of us well into our working day, and i'm sure alot of us are probably close to halfway through and counting down the hours remaining before the 4 DAY WEEKEND The sun is BEAMING down this morning and hopefully will stick around for a few more days, ( THERE'S ALWAYS HOPE ) giving people the chance to hit the waterways without getting soaked! WHAT / WHERE IS EVERYONE UP / OFF TOO???? I am sure alot of us will be out or heading away with family and friends, and there even may be a minority of us, busting to brush up on our skills for the up coming PIRTEK CHALLENGE. ( Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Bass, Trout...WHO KNOWS!?!?! ) I will be heading up to Budgiewoi with 5 other couples with kids to have a blast and taking 2 other boats so hopefully today's weather will carry over for the whole weekend! I agree, so in that instance, i always ensure i have my flares and V sheet with me regardless weather it is open or limited waters..Wouldn't you, knowing that it is a rough area ? Small price to pay considering what the consequences might be. CHeeRS Antun
