  1. We fished further upstream today,no touches on the plastics but we got two 20cm bream, saw two 60+cm flatties near us.Just one of those days.
  2. there a company called boab boat hire, they hire out 5.8m alum centre cab with 150hp for $295 a day.thats probably something like you seen. But I am not sure if they are set up in Sydney yet, they originate 1hr down the coast.By the way you can tow it yourself to wherever you want to fish
  3. thats right Rob , the dioxins have been in the system for who knows how long.Anyway its coming from Homebush way so I'd say that fish from middle harbour way are ok to eat.
  4. I dont know if using straight braid will help you as the braid is much more likely to break around reefy bottom. Because it does not have the stretch mono leaders have.
  5. The best way to cook salmon is to filletit, skin it and cut all the dark meat out that is around the bloodline, batter and breadcrums and the white meat is beaut try it you will be surprised
  6. I would concerntrate my efforts this weekend around the lower reaches as the murky fresh water seems to move all fish that way places like flint and steel, west head, and Cowan seems to stay cleaner than the main river, driting around patonga can also really fire in these conditions.Good luck hope these spots help out
  7. Conditions looked perfect, must have been a great fight , well done mate
  8. That deserves a few a true fisho knows Iam sure you will be rewarded with a beauty for all of your efforts.
  9. If you can get out before sunrise the spit bridge is a great spot for livies and you can get squid here to .Best to try on the end of the incoming as the tide flies through here and berley and unweighted baits are impossible to use
  10. Not sure if there is much accomodation along that stretch of the river , try searching holiday accomodation and you might come across some houses for rent.As for spots, this site has a great article on Cowan which should help you on your way.Broken bay and hawks river are probably a 5 to 7 minute ride so you have plenty of options
  11. Thats a beaut flatty for that part of the harbour mate, well done you deserve a few for that
  12. Have you had much luck at Juno on a falling tide, more people seem to fish there on the run in
  13. We have been out a few times in broken bay/hawkesbury and seem to be only catching tailor and soapy jew, most flatties are undersize also, should be cracking late January
  14. the harbour is not as bad as everyone thinks. To be honest I have not fished botany or port hacking much but it shits on the hawksbury. There is a way better range of species on offer.More structure, cleaner water I reckon you just had an unlucky day,we have had plenty of days were we haven't been able to raise a good fish. Its annoying but hey thats fishing I suppose
  15. Hi there,I have done a day on the water with Dean Hayes and he is very good at what he does, one thing that you might want to think about is the type of species you would like to target,Dean I think is mainly sportfishing, mostly lures, flies etc but if you want to learn how to catch jewies or others on bait it might pay to ask what they specialise in, as we have been shafted before also
