  1. Great work pmak and boys and dont forget farther inlaw too \ Besides Bream, Blackfish are my second favorite fish to catch and my favorite to eat! They put up a great fisht amd are a real surprise on lures! Very envious of that large flattie cheers Pete
  2. Top work guys The spill way is very surprising isnt it! and you can see how much erosion there was from the floods!!!
  3. Berkley 3 inch minnows- watermelon pearl and peppered prawn 80mm wrigglers in lava and wasabi ( lava has surprised me on a few occasions so that beats bloodworm for me on this one) My own blades I make and Eco gear zx's And I like the crankas and atomic hards in naturals I love the berkley 3 inch minnows they seem to be even better than the wrigglers when I fish in botany but on occasions I still love the wrigglers when a smaller profile is needed
  4. Good on ya guys very jelous!!!!! So you think the downsizing paid off mate pete
  5. Top effort guys!! What did you use to get them? Pete

  8. Hey guys i headded out to botany bay on friday arvo with my mate Trent who recently came back from overseas Befor he left about 20 months ago me and him were just getting into using lures and never really had any luck at all so i was keen to show him what he has been missing since he went overseas From our first cast we were both on to a couple of nice trevs The action didnt stop at that with double hooks up for the next 3 casts and a fish every couple of min after that! To say Trent was impressed was an understatement but i did have to tell him that "Its not always this easy mate" With the same drift we moved into some shallow water and both caught a fe fish on bard bodys i used both the cranka cranks (see Pic) and the new seibel cranks, Soon enough that southerly came and it blew up really bad so we hid in behind towra close to the shoreline and chucked lures into the banks and must of hit a nice patch of flatties with 5 fish arounf the 50cm make going into the live well along with a couple of whiting around the 33cm mark Called it quits after having too much of the wind and got a little wet going back to the boat ramp but we were both pretty happy I dare say we landed around 35 or so fish between us most being legal size in the 3hrs on the water, most were trevs but no bream again so i was a little spewing They ate anything we threw at them but turtle back worms seemed to be the standout and we pulled hooks and got busted off a few times too Sorry for the lack of pics once the wind started the phone went away into my bag so it wouldnt get wet lol Anyways thanks for reading guys Cheers Pete

  12. Haha i dont wana turn this into a "how much crap you got" thread but hear it goes explaining how im set up at the moment for lures The first explains its self basically these large containers keep the plastice from getting damaged The second pick is all the type of containers/tackle trays i use The plano bio bait tubs have berkley plastics in them one for 3 inch minnows, shrimp and craws, turtle back worms and worms, minnow grubs and grubs Then i have a tackle box set up for leader, braid and spare spools/ oil and stuff Others for hardbodys, surface lures, light gig heads, heavy jig heads, blades/vibes, assorted plastics which are mainly all for bream other than some barra stuff The last one is how i typically set up the boxes all these are squidgy plastice i like for bream just easy to get to and no fondeling around trying to find something i want to use Even tho i have favorite lures i still try use as many as i can to get used to how they swim and to mix it up, somedays i might stick with the one type of plastic/blade and other days ill switch and change untill i find whats working Im going to look at storage options for reels soon so ill post that up if there is still some interest in the next couple of weeks

  19. Mate I hope I get a jewie soon! I have never really targeted them so I got to leave the bream gear at home and give it a good crack with the right conditions I might have a good shot at one Are you going to the BB social ? Cheers Pete
  20. Top session mate you sure know where to find them in WB I have always been a more of a natural colour guy but have also started to use pink with results with the blades I have made I have never explored right at the back of WB so I might have to give it a go without getting stranded lol Nice blackfish too they are one of my favorite species Cheers Pete
  21. I would rather the stradic myself The 3000 is the same reel as the 2500 but with a different spool, my stradic has never missed a beat and i have landed a heap of fish on them The main difference between the stradic and saros is the alloy body of the stradic and the stradic uses a worm drive which is alot stronger For the 50 buck difference i would look around a few other places and you might find yourself a bettter deal or haggle them down a little if you can cheers Pete
  22. Hey guys hit the Georges River solo for a couple of hours Friday arvo befor a night out with a few mates. I have been fishing bays and lakes too much recently and i thought i need some more practice in rivers which i hardly fish and not very consistently either I tried rock walls, bridge pylons, and drop offs for no love at all so i decided to shoot up the wonnie and see what i could find. Never fishing the area in my boat i noticed the sand flats on the left hand side with a few drains run offs so i had a few cast to see what was around It looked very fish and it didnt disappoint with probably landing 20 or so small flatties all under sized other than 2 a few chopper taylor. For shits and giggles i chucked a plastic over the sand into one of the small draining pools behind the sand and WACK! i was on I thought i might be able to coax the decent sized flattie out where the pool was draining but he didnt want to play so i tried dragging him over the small sand bar and was cut off! I dare say he would of been around 60cm or so and a local pelican came down to try engulf the flapping fish but the flattie won his freedom and made it back into the water eventually i wish i had a few people with now to see the whole event unfold and it turned a slow day into one i wont forget in a while lol On the way back to the ramp i sounded out an area i thought i might try later on for a jewie and im pretty sure what i seen on the sounder would of been a pretty decent fish i think (dam i wish i was rigged up!) and a couple of the flatties Thanks for reading guys Pete
  23. Cheers mate thanks for the complements The best thing about doing the comps is goin with my old man we dont take it too seriously we talk crap and if we catch fish its even better But i still like the challenge Cheers Pete
  24. I use albrights with the new 4lb exceed which is as thin as 1lb fireline crystal and 3lb fluro and have not had one let go yet. I chuck a couple more turns on the way up and back down and carefully pull the knot together Slim beauty's work well too but for me the Albright is the fastest and easiest by far Pete
