  6. Top effort mate! If i had of found a school of them a couple of weeks ago in that comp i recon i couldnt resist chucking a couple of plastics there way thats for sure Pete
  7. owners and gamagatsu's are the 2 best that springs to mind no doubt there are other quality ones around but they are the most common Pete
  8. Mate right at the end of kernell where it meets the sactuary zone or in between the groynes would be a good spot to try! Good chance of a flatie or bream and plenty of pickers too and other things to do if the girls get a little restless Pete
  9. Bad luck guys but some really nice and healthy fish there ! its exciting seeing all the boats line up ready to go first thing in the morning isnt it I could only imagine how many cast you guys put out over the week! i tried working it out last year on a 2 day comp with a full 3 days of fishing and it was close 800 or so Where the plastic colours you guys were using naturals? cheers pete
  10. Mate very very rarely but some people do find some stray ones occasionally i know a bloke who got one in port hacking a few years back Pete
  11. Mate thats a top effort with some great photos!!! Im very very jelour Cheers pete
  12. Thanks mate I had 4 holes to trial them to see what ones work best, ill most probably remove the front hole as that has the least action but it good for real quick whips of the rod Mate keep trying and persist with lures and you will never go back to the dark side of bait fishing also go light too and have more fun at the same time! Mine are pretty light mate no lead in them The style of retrieve can change from day to day but the way way i did it gives the fish time to see the lure and decide if they want to eat it or not
  13. No dramas mate! i normally use 3 out streatched arm lengths thats around 4m ;)i find it gives you a little more shock absorbing especially with the lighter leadder, and im goin to make a big batch of my blades soo so i think ill be alright in that department For leadder knots i use an improved albright but im interested in learning more if your willing to share Cheers mate Pete
  14. Mate that was great I have seen blokes fish right at the back of racks and thought they were crazy untill i seen them pull in a 1kg fish by skull dragging it on the surface lol they were using 20lb mono leader! Will you be fishing the 2 day sussex inlet abt qualifer at the start of july? ill be fishing that with my uncle Top effort once again mate!! Pete
  15. Mate i was mainly using the blades that day. I basically have 3 rods set up normaly, 1 with a blade the other 2 with plastics 1/12 and 1/16 weights so i can change to the conditions or chuck another out if i get busted off but this time i had 2 with blades and 1 set up for plastics so i was just randomly swapping Cheers mate! Im working on the colours you mentioned hopefully i can get them close The electric defently opens up way more options but now i have to think too much lol The blades only cost me a couple of bucks to make including hooks and stuff so i dont mind loosing a few, but i still get pissed cause of the time i spend making them Thanks guys! pete
  16. ill listen for sure mate the hawksbury is one place i want to explore more thats for sure! pete
  17. Mate top work with that lovely snapper! Thats one species im keen to get into this winter for sure! pete
  18. Hey guys! I hit the georges sunday morning for a few hours to try out some of my new blade colours and to get some practice with my recently fitted electric bow mount motor I mainly fished the pylons of Alfreds point bridge with both plastics and blades with small skips off the bottom and decent pauses in between, this type of fishing is new to me but i persisted and it payed off, in the 4 hours i would of landed 15-20 bream 1 lonely ep and a couple of bust offs and droped fish with no great size most between 23-27cm and the biggest being 32cm Other than the wind and rain it wasnt a bad session and thanks to the guy in the car park with the kyak who saved my ass by having jumper leeds that will learn me for leaving my lights on cheers Pete
  19. Top work mate Did you fish the upper reachers for that bag or was there too much fresh in the system? cheers pete
  20. the wind and rain didnt stop me from fishing this weekend so get out there
  21. Hey guys i did a quick search and i couldnt find anything personally but i was wondering on opinions and a battery to suit my new 54lb 12v watersnake I dont mind going over kill either but i dont want to spend a fortune in the process as well so any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks Pete
  22. Cheers mate i cant wait to go back up there thats for sure! Next time ill take my own boat up Cheers mate have you been out much recently? I do love my light stuff mate you should get into it too
  23. Apparently the bass are really hard to get in there on lure i was told. most people catch them on live shrimp under floats and you will hardly reconise the place with all the water in there now! And yes it was a long drive but still worth the effort i recon
  24. Yeah mate thats one i have painted , i have been a little slack with them as of recent but ill get into them more soon and i have a few colour ideas ill try too I still learnt alot from being up there and ill be up there again at christmass again so ill be alot more prepaired and ill start getting a fine collection of hb's befor then no doubt In winter the curry snags and in summer the trout pete
