Anyone else comment on this please? I honestly only killed the fish because I thought it was the right thing to do and didnt want the fish to suffer????
Thanks, Dingo
Fish have a high acid content in their stomachs that can literally dissolve hooks in a matter of days.. Cut the line as short as possible to the eye of the hook and release... Hooks aren't that expensive to replace...

Not really... But you can buy them.. Would cost you an arm and a leg though..
I saw one in penrith a few years ago for $3k..

hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like a pike to me
Impossible to tell from the photo....although if it smelt bad, good chances it was a pike.

Its a good idea to drop a squid jig over at flint and steel and just leave it in the rod holder...
Ive caught them there in the middle of the day....and also at night..
Actually.....anywhere i fish in the hawkesbury, i usually have a squid jig set up just in case i get some follows, which is quite common.. Also, if any live baits have had their brains eaten out, you know there is squid about.

Not illegal to monitor weather channels, and also..i don't think anyone would ask any questions if you don't have a licence and use it in case of an emergency.. Although.. If you are concerned, get a licence.
4wd do use VHF's also...and need a licence to use one....
