  1. Not illegal to monitor weather channels, and also..i don't think anyone would ask any questions if you don't have a licence and use it in case of an emergency.. Although.. If you are concerned, get a licence. 4wd do use VHF's also...and need a licence to use one....

  3. Fish have a high acid content in their stomachs that can literally dissolve hooks in a matter of days.. Cut the line as short as possible to the eye of the hook and release... Hooks aren't that expensive to replace...
  4. Not really... But you can buy them.. Would cost you an arm and a leg though.. I saw one in penrith a few years ago for $3k..
  5. I don't think he's an eastern mate...

  10. Cuttlefish let out a dye....as do octopuses and squid.
  11. Take advantage of the $AU and get yourself a Spheros from the USA..
  12. They spawn in the salt water...
  13. You probably flooded it and ran the battery dead trying to start it..... Charge her up...she'll be right.
  14. You'll find its probably an Estuary Catfish... I caught one a few months ago off barrenjoey that measured at 75cm....
  15. Its a good idea to drop a squid jig over at flint and steel and just leave it in the rod holder... Ive caught them there in the middle of the day....and also at night.. Actually.....anywhere i fish in the hawkesbury, i usually have a squid jig set up just in case i get some follows, which is quite common.. Also, if any live baits have had their brains eaten out, you know there is squid about.
