  1. Hello everyone. Got myself a t-curve deep jig 200 and its rated for 170 - 225g jigs. Would i be be able to use a 250g jig on it and still be able to work the jig properly? And also what kind of depths can i run with those sorts of weights?

    Thanks for the help.

  2. Got the reel back 6 weeks + later with the problem being a seized line roller bearing. Supposedly it was my fault that it happened so they charged me 40 odd dollars, gotta love a 10 year warrenty thumbdown.gif Never mind i thoroughly wash down all my tackle right down to the last swivel.

Got bored waiting and i was ready to buy another outfit for the season. Was going to get another stradic but went to a daiwa sol 4000 instead which as it happens leaves the stradic for dead!

But i've got my stradic back now and its brand new again! casts like a bullet, smooth as silk.

    Thanks for the help

  3. You made the right choice! Ive used the baitrunner 8000 many times on kings and its a great reel, especially if your thinking of downrigging. Its got enough drag for sydney although in saying that when i caught a 95cm king it was locked up and still screaming thumbup.gif.

T-curve would suit it really nicely, great rods.

    Good luck on those kings.

  4. Ive sent the reel in for repair. I noticed that the drag clicker was starting to not work properly, every so often it would stop clicking while taking line then the drag would go sloppy?? Be intresting to see what the problem is.

Also opened up the real and was clean as brand new.

Keep ya posted in a week or so.

  5. Hey everyone. I've got a stradic 2500fi and i've had it for about a year now and absolutely love it. Recently i've noticed that its a bit rough, and quite noisy. Every time i use the reel i lock up the drag and give it a light wash off with the hose at the end of the day. I've also recently oiled everything.

Just wondering why it would be going so noisy and rough and how i could fix this?

    Thanks for the help.

  6. Thanks for a great day! I decided to come out for the day and make the 3am drive down to be fishing before sunrise, well worth it thumbup.gif . It was great to finally put some names to faces being my first social i really enjoyed it.

Thanks again to everyone involved in organising. And hopefully see everyone out on the water,

    Until then, tight lines!!!

  7. Hands down metals/slices. Halco twister in the appropriate size is my favorite for both surface and trolling, caught plenty of taylor with them. Don't have to worry about teeth as well, never had a problem with being cut of by teeth even after a dozen or so half decent sized ones and on 5lbs leader thumbup.gif

  8. Hey everyone, got a bit of a question about lumo beads. Im considering running a lumo bead just above a small snap on my light rig. Ill be using the rig for squiding, bonnies, taylor, rat kings etc... And also for flicking plastics. Is it a good idea to use a lumo bead for what im thinking of?

Then what about my heavier rigs.. Just above a livie rig on my kingie outfit? Using the lumo bead just to protect the top eye.

    Thanks for the help.

  10. We lost one around 12pm on that spot.. got smoked on the light setup.

So went back Wed morning.. 87cm, 95cm and 97cm biggrin2.gif

When you going out again? still have seen you guys in your new boat!

    Cheers ray

I heard you did well! they've got some nice girth on them!

Well done, they must of gone really nicely.

  11. Started out the day from Roseville and got into it with bait collection, arrived to late so no squid for us :( went on for yakkas. Got to the spot and dropped the bait jig down, boom, boom three horses of yakkas! Dropped it down again screeching drag..ping! first hook taken by a kingy. Went down for more horse yakkas and brought up a few. Down again and screetch, ping! second hook taken by a king. Then so any etc for bait collection with the exception of a few salmon and taylor, collected until i was left with no hooks from the kings :).

Moved on else where trolling live yakkas. The day was very slow after bait collection and after an hour or so of trolling our luck changed when the reel started screaming its bearings off!! Bolted for the rod and started tightening drag until i couldn't tighten anymore, this didn't stop the reel from screaming. A few solid minutes later and two tred arms ago i ended up with a stunner of a 90cm king, biggest kingy i've caught in sydney harbor.

That was it for the day but i was happy...

  12. Ive played around with the saltiga hiramasa jigging rod and that was insane!! A bit to pricey thou :( I also played around with a live fibre and really liked it but i think its too long to jig with.. What do you guys fish for with the deep jig 400's?

    Thanks

  13. Hello once again everyone,

Looking at matching up my saragosa 14000 with a new rod but have been looking for ages and have found nothing which grabs my attention. Been looking at the shimano t-curve deep jig 200 but have heard very mixed reports about them and to stay far away from the deep jig 400 (broomstick).

Im using the deep jig 200 as a reference to show what im looking for but mainly just something versitile; jig, troll, livebait...

Planning to use the rig for big kings if im lucky and the smaller ones

Thanks again everyone, hopefully someone can end my search.

    Jono
