Most of the bonito I have caught this summer have been on surface lures like skirts and poppers or on shallow divers. Maybe you were working to deep?

Could be the line is getting caught on the trebles?

Hey fellas. Yesterday headed out to middle harbor to see if I could land my first king whilst trolling. Trolled around middle head for about an hour landing 8 bonnies and my new pb salmon that went 65 and was fat as. After this we went and had a flick around some drop offs and picked up a few flatties for lunch. By ten we had ourselves a feed and decided to call it a day. On the way home we saw a few birds working a school of baitfish around killarny point so had a few casts with some poppers and picked up another bonito and had a few chases to the back of tge boat from some rat kings. Was surprised seeing them so far up Roseville!!!

Cheers for all the help guys. Managed to get out 3 times in the past two weeks and have landed loads of bonito and a new pb salmon for me at 65cm all around middle head. Found a few rat kings amongst a school of bonito today and had a few chases on poppers but still haven't broken my Kingy duck. Anyone have any king specific lures that work for them?

Hey raiders. This Friday I'm taking my old man out hoping to get some bonnies Tailor or salmon. I've bought a few Christmas trees as suggested by some other raiders and am thinking of trolling them plus some x rapsaround north head into quarantine bay. Just wanted to no if any raiders have had any recent success out there or should I try middle harbor? Cheers

Cheers i will definitely purchase some christmas trees then. Any colors that seem to work better and what size and brands should i be looking at.

Hey raiders am only relatively new to lure fishing and as I've just got myself a 14ft tinny in which I can troll I was wanting any tips on the best ways to troll and or places to troll in the harbor or pittwater. Will primarily be chasing bonnito salmon and rat kings on light gear. Just picked up a couple of the smaller x raps diving around 6 ft. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys I'm a rookie fisho and have finally got my tinny out on the water. Have done a bit of bream and salmon fishing but have never got into any kings. So I was wondering if anyone would want to share any tips. Yesterday we downrigged a life squid around the moorings at the spit for nil. Any help would be apreciated

Which comp are you referring to? I'm meant to be fishing the Windamere classic but am an absolute novice. Let me know how it goes and which techniques paid off Best of luck

Hey guys been a while since ive posted on here and have a quiet winter fish-wise due to lack of boat availability plus uni. Anyways have got myself an old 14ft tinny to thrash this summer but only have light gear that ive previously used for salmon trevally bream ect. Was hoping to get my first king this summer and hopefully go on to rack up a decent tally. What kind of gear should i look into weight rating wise keeping in mind i dont have the largest budget due to uni. Eventually im hoping to get into a saltist spin with 30kg drag for those larger kings but ill have to make do for now.

Hey raiders, just purchased my first boat the other day. It's got a real old flaky paint job and the previous owners requested I changed it as to avoid confusion between it another similar boat they own. It's a 14ft aluminum tinny and I was hoping to remove the paint and leave it with a tin finish as I don't mind it looking bare. I was interested in the best ways to remove the paint both cost and time wise. Any input would be appreciated!! Regards cam

Hey tok I think it was my mates u saw who were walking behind me as I saw them talking to someone. Unlucky with the throw backs but at least it's something. Yer I've got a lot to learn to but am thoroughly enjoying just getting out there.

Hey guys, ended up going north narra next to the lake entrance. Used ganged pillies and second cast got my biggest salmon that went 65cm. To casts later the old reel called it quits so I had to watch my mates fish. Seemed to be a bit around as the guy next to us pulled in 5 bream a tailor and a soapie. Will probably head back this Friday with a new reel as it was a great night. Thanks for all ur help cam

Hey guys going for my first beach fish tomorrow afternoon down at mid narra beach. Going 2 or 3 hours before the high tide and was just wanting some advice on techniques and the best baits. Will be targeting primarily salmon and the odd bream but will have a heavier rod out hoping for a stray jew to. Any help will be appreciated.

I have a 14ft centre console tinny, not really set up for night fishing, in the process of getting a gps sounder. We ended up getting quite a few small snapper and such (all released) at sour and pigs and i ended up getting my first flathead in a small bay near roseville. Only measured 40 cm but i have to start somewhere . Thanks for the help guys this site is really helpful!!!

Hey guys going out this weekend on the harbor for the second time not land based. Last time found some smaller stuff and baits fine but couldn't find anything decent. Was hoping for something sporting like kings or salmon but any fish will do. If anyone has any general tips or spots that they would like to share it would be much appreciated. Cheers

I recently purchased a bait jig that works a treat on the yackas. Can get them down at fish outta water near manly vale for 3 bucks or so. With a little berley most rocky points have yackas about. Best of luck

As you come under the spit heading out to middle harbor there is a point just before clontarf. Has produced ok squid in the last month.

Good effort with the 1 meter king! If you dont mind saying, where about in middle harbor did you find the kings. Went out on saturday and tried the usual spots with yackas and had no luck.
