You got the feeling back in your arms yet mate
It was a little bit tuff out wide on Saturday with most of the action being up at seal rocks
Sunday the little blacks fired out the front of port and we ended up with 4 from 8 and back in the pen by 2.00 pm they were also up at seal rocks
Those that went wide of the carpark copped a wet ride home with the n/Easter blowing at 25 to 30 knots
Great to have you and Dom on board pity we couldent get the second one to stick
-
Who cares what it's weight was it made for a good feed and we had it on ice within ten minutes to keep it good nick
We are only fishing socially it's all about having a good time with some mates and if we catch anything it's a bonus
By the way I fished all last weekend and couldn't catch a cold, I had four other boats around us and they all hooked marlin and I couldent get a bite.
-
Well done there seems to be more big dollies around this year than the past few years
Hope the engine dramas are only minor
-
Hi berlyguts
The second dollie was caught about 3 m East of the light house at port so I see no reason why they wouldn't be on the other side
-
well done boys nice fish

Took the boat up to portstehpens on Saturday morning and was greated by a large swell coming out of broken bay
Ran up to Norah head in about 140m and set three lures out for the rest of the trip.
Off Lake Macquarie had a hit with an under size dollie and that was it for the day.
Sunday dawned and after a coffie did a run to the bait grounds and loaded the tank with slimies
Went to the fad and got pestered with more small dollies attacking our skip baits.
Left the dollies at the fad and headed east without much happening and then got hit on the swimming slimie and missing the hook uo but the fish then went and took the skip bait .
After landing the fish we decided to move closer to the coast as the temp was up to 27deg C with the current going pretty strong.
Got to within 3 mm off the south side of port and had a hit from a small black which we missed and about three minutes later got the second dollie
All in all a god days fishing and for anybody having a go save your fuel and stay in close in about 25 to 50 fns

With all the talk about marlin outside I made arrangements to spend the night on the water with the wife in pittwater chasing garfish for baits.
Got out to Palm beach in the afternoon and started Berleying with bread and potatoes for no results except for yellowtail.
We then decided to move to America bay for the night. Picked up a moring and threw out a yellowtail before starting the barbie.
Had tea and a couple of beers and decided to check the rod and up came this nice flathead.
Brownie points are now in the bank for port stephens , I'll just have to catch the gars up there

Hi vic

Nice Dolly Gerry.
Was planning a run on Sunday, however at this stage my partner has pulled out with back issues
Pity because the winds and seas look good for Sunday.
-
No it was a chin rigged yellowtail
We were pulling skip baits and one swimmer.
I've given lure fishing away for marlin whenever possible because.

Top effort solo must be something in the air with all the fishraiders going out solo catching marlin.
Great fish and you will remember it for a long long time.
Good luck on you future efforts
-
Well done on the fish
A great effort solo, you must have everything sorted to get pictures and a vid and still get the fish top effort
-
Good to see you get out mate. One of my mates today got a nice beak solo at the car park! Looking promising champ!
Cheers scratchie!!!
Can't wait until, we get up there at the end of the month.
Cheers Gerry

Any fin went out today from Pittwater and with all the reports over the weekend expectations were high .
Left at 6.30am and headed to long reef with skip baits ready to go.
Got to Long reef and deployed the the baits 3 skips and 1 chin rigged yellowtail.
Trolled from 35fhms to 75fhms without a bite then found a current line and headed straight to the line for nothing.
Kept going for about another Klm and got a hit from a nice dolly about 8 to 9 kgs.
Landed the dolly and carried on towing baits for the rest of the day for one bill swipe from a small black in about 50 fhms but it did'ent come back and that was it for our day.
I'll post a pic of the dolly when one of the boys send it to me .
All in all a pretty quite day up north, I did hear that it was better down south of the peak but we did'ent get down that far and as they say shit happens.

Hi Ian great to see you getting out and getting a few.
We used to get quite a few kings off marly wreck about 15 years ago havent been down there since, there wasent much left of the wreck then. Can you still pick it up on the sounder.
-
You all earn too much money I can only get to port stephens
-
Nice catch scratchie you'll have to show me how to catch them on plastics because I'm useless at it.
I can get them on floating baits but haven't got a clue with plastics.

Heard of a few tuna caught off browns today
From what I heard on the radio most of the fish were about 5m east of browns.
We can't get out until the boat is fixed but with the weather the way it is at present it would be worth a trip out.
-
I would have to agree with Ian
My boat is located in pittwater on a berth and the costs are about the same the only problem with Pittwater is its a long way to the more productive game fishing spots.
The best part is its a great spot to take the boat out and spend the wekend up the river with the family in one of the quite bays.

You can usually catch marlin out from terrigal. There are a bunch of reefs in about 75-100m that run south \ north and we have caught stripped and small blacks in that water from about Late Dec all the way to end of Apri there are also a lot of fish traps in this area so just find some away from all the other boats and you will catch plenty of dolphin fish. As Scratchie say though Port is by far the best and most consistant place for marlin during summer.

Be in port in about four month, can't wait one of the best places to fish on the nsw coast .
Good luck with your new job.

Hi fellas
Keep an eye on this site because I'm often looking for extra crew to tag along
Unfortunately I'm not going out for the next couple of weeks due to work and family commitments but will put a post up next time I'm going out
Cheers

I've heard of a couple of fin caught today but all the action was this morning. This afternoon was pretty quite
Tomorrow's a different day so with a bit of luck and effort we may find some.

We will just have to take our chances with Tuesday as work has stuffed my Monday plans and I hope the tuna don't know the difference between Monday and tuesday
