Gday All, I am off to Tasmania this weekend and was wondering if anyone has fished Tassie of late in the Derwent and if so, where to go and target these massive XOS size bream. Trout are probably out of the question unless I am fortunate enought to catch on of those sea going trout. Look forward to anyone responses who have fished Tassie of late. Hi Little_Flatty, Well mate i just did a big upgrade of all my fishing gear. So I have 2 new 2006 Quantum pti energy 10 arriving which need to be matched up to a rod. Perfect that Saqa can custom design etc. So yeah Light Spinning would be perfect. Then I have the Shimano Chronarch mg 50 that I won off Modern Fishing (as I keep reminding people lol) that I need to get a rod for. So something for barra to bass size rod. I suppose I just would like to get away from the mainstream LOOMIS, MILLER (not that I have owned a miller), DAIWA etc, I would like something a little more special - that is where SAQA comes in. I know that HARAKA has a few rods from SAQA, maybe HARAKA you can take a pic of a few and show us the goods mate? Cheers!

I sent my sister too little twins in North Queensland (see pic) a rod each so they could start getting the feel of the rod etc (nothing wrong with starting em early) and all they want to do now is get grandad to go to the creek with their new rods and catch Mud Cod lol. It brings back the days of me harrasing dad to dig up some worms and get down the creek when I was 'knee height to a grasshopper"! The boy, I will be getting him a rod too so I can start the fishing craze early on him too. Wont their parents be loving me for that lol!

Such a shame but when are people going to learn that fishing off the rocks is a risk! You really need to know what too look for and also be well equipped ie: correct shoes etc. Deepest sympathy to his family.

Yeah, comparing it to Rex Hunt - well there is no comparison really! Ifish and Alex Julius shows just are class. What I like about him is - HE FISHES and PRODUCES EXCELLENT RESULTS.

Nice work mate, My hard luck story was I went to the Casino on Friday night and played this machine where you needed 3 symbols to get the free games. Now when you get the free games you need 5 of a certain symbol to win the major jackpot which ws $28 590 and so many cents. Well I got the free games and up come 4 of the symbols and on the 5th reel the symbol I needed just dropped off the screen. I missed out on $28 GRAND! Ouch! All that fishing gear I could of bought! Oh well, thems the break.

Hi JohBlow, It is a great show to watch me friend but every show like this has the 'sponsorship crapola' that goes along with it and this show had it aswell. For example he had the Manager from Lowrance on his boat fishing with him and guess whos boat was fitted out with Lowrance - Mr Julius. They dedicated 2 mins to talking about Lowrance. Another one was Killalure. Everything was "look at the barra take that pink and gold Killalure Flatz Ratz. All had to do with product placement and mentioning of a product at any chance. You must of been blind to miss it pal or caught up too much in the fishing of those excellent barras they were getting stuck into. With saying this, he does put on a good show and certainly different from the boring Rex Hunt programs. Totally agree with you there. IFish is also good - they put on a good 30 min show. Tight Lines.
