  9. The family all went to Port Stephens for 5 days on the Easter long weekend where we fished the bay for Jewfish. We went out on Friday. On the water caught 15 Jewies averaging from 4 to 8kg caught on lures, bait and we kept 10 and released 5. On the way back to the boat ramp we came across a MASSIVE school of mullet. They were so thick you could walk on them so we decided to fish on 1kg line and have a go at catching them, we caught 8 mullet on lures and bait. The biggest fish was 1.8kg on 1kg line and was 47cm long. Went out on Saturday and managed another 6 jewies around 7kg and then on Sunday we got another 7 jewies and realesed 6 more. All in all it was a great weekened with the family and EVERYBODY caught fish! Fish Fish My link My link My link My link My link Here are some more pictures. My link My link

  11. Over the Christmas Holidays the family went camping at Hat Head to do some fishing. We had poor weather and got out fishing 5 days out of 21 but caught fish every day. Some of the Captures were: 17kg Dolphin Fish, 15kg Dolphin fish, 12 kg Dolphin fish and 2 10 kg dolpin fish. There ya go pics now added..Admin
  12. we caught all the jewies nere the bridge at karuah. we found a hole drifting with our gps and sounder and if you drift even a couple of metres off the spot you wont get any hook ups. Having a good transducer and sounder helps. we use a Furuno 585 sounder with a one kW transducer. we also do alot of marlin and tuna fishing out wide of a place called hat head nere south west rocks, and the carpark out of Port Stephens and the sounder has given us magical results in terms of picking up the bottom even in 400+ metres of water.
  13. we used fresh, local squid and used strip baits most of the time.
  14. Our family went out on the long weekend to Port Stephens to go night and day fishing. We went out on the first night and only caught a small Jewfish and got busted off by a bigger fish. The next day we went out on our 2nd session and hooked up to some nice fish. The biggest going 10.1kgs followed by some smaller fish weighing 7.1, 5.2 and 4 kgs all on 3kg line. We went out on our last day with bad weather and the occasional shower but managed to get another jewie weighing 3.1kg. Had an excellent weekend and fresh bait helped heaps.
