  1. I have the 580 breeze and loving it. handles chop with ease. very happy with my HH. only thing i would change is to get a 150 hp 4 stroke instead of my 135 Optimax Merc. The 4 is just alot quieter.
  2. Well done on the fish! Interesting that you said that you were eating bananas. My Uncle alsways told be they were bad luck. anyone else heard this old wives tale?
  3. I have the big brother -=> 580 Breeze with a 135 Optimax Merc. Very happy. Handles offshore very well. But i always pick the right conditions. enjoy.. i certainly do.
  4. found this on sydneywater website http://www.sydneywater.com.au/SavingWater/WaterRestrictions/ All exemptions are subject to change, following regular reviews as the drought progresses. The following are still permitted at any time: Using a hose with a trigger nozzle or high pressure cleaning device to clean boat bilges and boat trailer brakes and wheels. Using a hose to flush boat engines. Interesting that on the Gosford Council site that they only refer to the external washing of boats. I imaging that rules out washing of brakes but engine flushes are ok. You can view the pdf here. for level 4 http://www.gosford.nsw.gov.au/water_and_se...-sheet.pdf/view and here for level 3 http://www.gosford.nsw.gov.au/customer/doc...ow-res.pdf/view

  6. I have Reelax 4.5 M White Fibreglass poles with tips in them Reef Runners 450 on my Haines 580 Breeze. Stainless Rigging gear Solid as a rock Around $2K Mounted on Stainless Brackets slightly off centre. Very happy. Also look very good.
  7. Conditions look good for a offshore run to browns.. maybe some tuna for me!
  8. Chk the GPS marks here. http://www.fishraider.com.au/gpsmarks http://www.fishnet.com.au/information/gps.html i have a 580 breeze.. you will have some fun, they (haines) are great boats, they seem to handle to bumps really well. if going offshore make sure you have a vhf radio Tomorrow is a good day for a offshore bash. Conditions are perfect. Websites i use to judge the conditions. buoy weather.. good to judge wind and swell http://www.buoyweather.com/wxnav.jsp?regio...zone=10&units=e A US Navy site.. always blows me out the amount of swell down south https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/PUBLIC/WAM/all_spac.html and of course the bom site http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDN10023.html
  9. I also went to Port on the weekend. We where out both Sat and Sun, We trolled from cabage tree island to broughton for a good mahi mahi 70cm. Coming into broughton island we came across a school of bonito for a triple hookup. Then trolled round to North rock where we came upon a school of kingies we landed 6 kings, 2 undersize 58-59 cm and 4 keepers 62, 65, 65 & 70cm doing figure eights around the school, there where a lot of garfish in the water We continued to trawl for a few bonito but nothing else. We tried a small reef for a whole lot of sweep and reef uglies.. Saw some guys at eh fish cleaning station who had landed 4 monter reds... but they where very tight lipped. Sunday we where at it again only for a few bonito, One of my mates fathers friend landed a 180kg marlin just next to cabbage tree island last weekend.
  10. All, I have a new Mercury Optimax 135HP motor. I need to get some more oil in the tank. I have finished the first 10 hours and am now on normal mixing. the question is.. Can i use any quality 2 stroke outboard oil? I have searched the Mercury website and they only talk about the Mercury owned Quicksilver oil specially designed for Direct Injected Motors.. Problem .. this costs a bomb. What grade of Oil does anyone use? Where does everyone buy there oil? cheers
  11. well done! i enjoyed the read
  12. I've had 2 towbars put on my last 2 cars in the last 2 years! Say that 3 times fast! Go the Hayman Reece. By far the best towbars and rock solid. Ford / Holden etc will rip you off and you will pay much more that. As well most of the manufacturers will sell you a rebadged Hayman Reece for a lot more $$. I just had a 2100kg pack put on my calais at Rallyspeed in Artarman , found them on the hayman reece website. They were very professional and quick. Hayman Reece Website ; http://www.haymanreese.com.au/index.htm The Quintrex 540 Weight (Boat only): 610kg + 200kg approx for the motor, + the trailer say 340kg Total - 1200-1300kg loaded with fuel, gear.. the 1600kg in my view would be perfect.
  13. where abouts did you school the snapper? where you drifting / anchored? did you use a burley trail? I have been fishing for a while, sanpper are my favourite fish to eat.. but i just can't seem to catch one! Costi Bros have been taking my DOH!
