  1. Gday all , would just like to pick your brains if i may,, have just recently bought a bass canoe and there is what looks like to be yellow foam at either end of canoe (inside of course) and was just wondering if its normal and to be fragile in places but still firm ( you could pick at it i suppose) ,, also has what looks like to be oar marks that have doug into it,, are these problems?

Also is there a way to attach a rod holder without drilling..?

Sorry for a long winded and confusing post ,, im even confused..

    Cheers in advance tangled1

  2. I threw some surface lures and an SX40 around there last summer with no luck, but I didnt have much time. There were a couple of suspicous silver flashes in the water which could be worth further investigation.

    Cheers, Langa

Thanks for the reply Langa. :biggrin2:

  3. Yeah me too, but it also involves screaming reels, Portuguese cork smoking, knee deep water, exploding leaders, sleep deprivation from searching the net for new locations, aching legs from long trips, empty bank accounts from too much gear, failed relationships from too much exploring and narrow mindedness, living in places only because there are monster fish, and day dreaming and a almost drug addiction to searching for the most remote heaven. Need I say more?

Nah,I think you have covered it !!

  4. Both excellent reels and you'd be happy with either. Neither is 'better'. Daiwa has more advanced engineering design but is more 'highly strung' (they can be a bugger to service). Shimano is slightly more 'old school'(simpler, not worse) internally but more forgiving. Shimano bearings are better quality...

I have both reels (although in different sizes) and I would happily have either again. But if I went out to buy a reel that size tomorrow, it would be an ABU Soron STX20.

    Cheers, Slinky

How many reels do you have slinky? Ball park figure!! :074:
