  1. Thanks, both are good tips. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  2. Hi, I'm looking to buy thread to repair my custom expensive boat covers before too bad. Only made 4 years ago but thread is failing in a few small areas. I'm after thicker and more robust than cotton. Bias parramatta only have a thin sail repair thread. Any ideas? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  3. This is inspiring, but I don't live within walking distance. Nevertheless I could see it being great with a plywood floor, a old esky with bait board lid, 20 lt. bucket and PVC tube held with adjustable circlip? bands as rod holders. Maybe with a small gel 12v battery and high mounted fluorescent light or LEDs if the wheels could cope with the weight on sand. Painted camouflage, so I would not be embarrassed in daylight. 4. Can it print me a good quality reel. Amazing.
  5. I'm still searching for first large jewfish, in the hawkesbury would I be be better of near the mouth during king tides or at the bridges where the current will be greater? Previously for me it has meant catfish and twisted lines, although I've been recently reading about aerodynamic bait presentation. Thanks Graham. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  6. Ethanol vaporises faster than petrol, and to make matters worse it more rapidly absorbs moisture. Ethanol petrol should not be used in boats or lawnmowers due to that the fuel may not be emptied frequently and/or topped up. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  7. Hi, it is giving me enjoyment and knowledge for when I do get out fishing, hopefully this weekend providing my son/ wife gives a hand necessary to launch & retrieve. Love my boat but 2 person required if ramp busy or windy. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  8. Hi, SWB is short wheel base ie. Not 5 door wagon length. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  9. I have a 4 litre prado, great at towing my 2.5 ton boat & probably cheaper to run when not towing which is most the time.
  10. I'm lousy at catching fish, but I recommend fishing in the morning. In summer strong NE winds are reliable and uncomfortable. Don't know if applies early autumn.
  11. Thanks for the advise, could I ask where you got it for $450. If you could please pm me, I'll get to see how pm's work as well. Thanks again.
  12. Someone please tell me if this would actually help me catch fish, I've a older hummingbird and spend most boating time around Cowan creek to Patonga. I've been enjoying reading the tips and friendly banter on FR,
  13. Hi, I've only recently subscribed to Fishraider. I've been enjoying the posts and exploring the site. Generally I don't get or make the time to play on the net, but wife & daughter away so have time & the computer. Thought it was time I contributed instead of reading others. I'm a lousy fisherman, but have a boat and good access to Cowan, Hawkesbury & Pittwater. My fishing partner is my 13 year old son who NEEDS to catch fish. Any fishing skills I learnt with my father 40 years ago are to no avail, are all fish much smarter than years ago or is it that "pro's in Pittwater" and such mean there are no fish. Can't be true I know some regularly catch good fish. We would be happy with modest catches of bream or flathead etc. I'm know that I don't put in the fishing hours to learn when or where to fish and that is unlikely to change. I plan to go out tomorrow can anyone please explain "peak fishing times" that I hear of but can't find reference to. Thanks.
