Thanks, I was well chuffed Yea hopefully next time I will be posting some pictures of some keepers!! I was using a Halco Laser pro 120 (blue) 1-2 M diver, this only seemed to attracke the salmon and bonito. The kingie were both caught on a Storm 120 (lighter blue with a silver strip up both sides) I think this lure is made by Rapala although sorry but I am not 100% sure. This was also a shallow diver 1.2 M. Sorry to hear you missed out on the kingie cut_loose, fingers crossed for you next time. Lets hope it's a good summer in the bay for the kingie

Started out from kurnell boat ramp at 06.30AM Sat Morning 20/11. Headed out to the heads for a troll, within less than 2 minuets my 2 mates Ian and Macca had a double hook up, Ian pulled in a 58CM Salmon and Macca pulled in a 63CM Kingie!! I couldn't believe my eyes, I have been waiting to pop my kingie cherrie for so long and now there was one in my boat, only problem is it didnt catch it! Being undersized we put the little fella back in the water but kept the Salmon Right I thought, now is as good a time as any to try and get my first Kingie, so I took over the rod. A few minuets on and........... Whack the fight was on! My friend Ian reeled in a Bonito, as we got a double hook up again, I thought maybe I had a bonito too but keeping my hopes up I continued to reel in. Then when mine turned into a bit of a fight, I knew this just wasn't the usual Bonito I am used to catching! Sure enough it was a kingie!! At last I get to put this on my list of fish that I have caught, it has only taken me 2 years to get one. Unfortunately it was only 58CM so he went back in the water too. 2 more Bonito on the troll then we decided to try a little driffting, picked up a 53CM, 50CM & 38CM Flattie that we kept and a few smaller which all went back in the water All in all what a great day on the bay and we couldn't have asked for the weather to be any better!! Hope you like the pictures, see attached a picture of what we believe is a shovel nose shark, Ian hooked him up, at first we thought it maybe a monster Flattie! the little shark also went back in unhurt.

Got the boat in at Kurnell by 06.15, Water was a little choppy but not much of a swell so we headed over to the heads for a Troll. After around an hour and not one single hit on the rods we decided to head over to try another spot. Anchored up and dropped the rods in, roughly an hour later..................And nothing. Went to pull the anchor up and realised I had a bit of a battle on, after a bit of tugging on the rope, what ever it was caught on won so cut the rope and headed off to Trevally Alley. Tied up to my friends boat and we soon realised that his anchor was not holding the both of us, but it was slowing us down to a nice drifting pace so we stayed as we were. Between 4 of us we struck a few undersized Flathead and reddys which all went back. Other than that nothing so we thought we would try one more spot, so off we went to the sticks. By now the water was really calm and starting to look like a great day. We drifted for a while and managed to hook up a nice size leather jacket and One legal size Trevally. By mid-day and no more bits we decided to call it a day. So all in all a pretty slow day on the bay, but like they say a bad days fishing is better than a good day at work!

7 from what was originally ment to be 10 met up at Tonkin Wharf to head out on a charter for a bit of deep sea fishing. Left at 05.30AM and headed out south of Port hacking heads. Before any fish was caught the morning was started with a great sighting of a Hump Back Whale which past really close to us, giving us a bit of a show. We got to our first spot for the day and I started the run of fish by catching my first Moey at 40CM!! But that was only just the beggining, my record fish for the day was shortly lived after my friend Tim pulled in a 42CM Snapper, followed shortly after by Dom pulling in a 43CM Snapper!! After this the fish kept on coming from all of us, including plenty of Perch, Nani Guy, Pike, 2 Pig fish, Snapper and Moey, plus a few fish we didn't eat like Barracuda etc. Follwed by Dom surprisingly catching a salmon on small strip of squid. After a few hours fishing, we had another visiter except this time it was a seal, great to watch but not so great when he is after what you are trying to catch. Afer a short while we moved on and luckily are unwanted friend did not follow. After settling at another great spot it wasnt long before Ian had a big hit on his Rod! After a bit of a battle which thankfully Ian won he pulled up this massive Barracuda, it was bigger than any of us on board had seen before, including the crew. It was roughly around 1.5 Meters!! After a great few hours fishing and only a short time to fish left we all believed that Dom had won the trophy with his 53CM Salmon(Ians Barra didn't count as its wasnt a fish we was going to eat). Then all of a sudden with one of my last cast's I felt a big hit on my Rod, this was lots tougher than the other fish I had been catching so I knew if I could bring it in I would be in for a treat!! And what a treat it was, a 56CM Snapper!! So all in all a great day and a few new personal bests for me. Thanks to all the guys who came out with me, what a great days fishing hey and thank you Pip and Blake from bravo fishing for taking us out to some great spots, we will see you again for sure.
