  5. Nice work!! What a fish one day I will land a flattie like that. Nice to see her swim away
  6. We also went out from Roseville all the way to manly and back stopping at Balmoral, the spit and Banterybay. We burlied hard but only small bites and nothing worth taking home. We tried SP and HB but still no luck. Saw a guy pull a nice King from the rocks near the Spit but we had no luck. Still a great day out. I am hoping the fishing improves shortly as the Mrs thinks I am just out enjoying the sun and getting away from her
  7. Great catch, I agree looks bigger than 50cm
  8. Thanks guys for all the help. I will take all suggestions on board and let you know how I get on. Hopefully it wont take me two year to pull up legal fish but I will keep trying. All you help has been fantastic.
  9. Thanks Leo, that helps a great deal. I was told by one of the guys at the boat ramp that I should change my rig to a Paternoster. I will give this a go. Hopefully I will posting some picture soon.

  12. Hi guys, I am looking for some help. I am new to Sydney and have been fishing for just over a year. I check fish raider daily and get super jealous seeing all the awesome catches and stories. So here is my problem, for majority of the past year I have been land based fishing and have not really had any luck. So decide to save up and purchase a boat. I have now been out a few times but still not having much success. Not really sure what I am doing wrong, I have tried live squid, fresh prawns, pillies etc and still no legal fish, often no fish at all. I see other guys pulling up fish all round me but I have no luck. I do burley up water and fish in the trail but still no real luck . I watch the videos online on how to catch various species and try find good locations but not sure what I am meant to be looking for. Practice makes perfect but even the smallest tips would be helpful. Any help would be much appreciated. If you want to PM me feel free. I would be more than happy to even go out and tag along with someone with some experience. I have tried to target flathead and other common estuary fish but I must be doing something wrong.
  13. you do not have to stray too far off Longreef about 150-200m off the point and if you have a decent fish finder you will see the reef. Always had good luck out there.
  14. We had no luck on the Northern beaches. we tried Narabean, Pittwater and westhead with no luck. Hope you do better than us.
  15. Pittwater was great nice and calm but no fish at all. We caught one gummy and a couple small reef fish. Weather was good!!
