i must have spent 50 k with my tiagras and stellars not 2 mention lures line hooks i mite be abit more than 50k and still buying more fishing gear i cant walk into a tackle shop with out spending $100 and thats just on squid jigs and the list goes on

hamerz is more than capable getting a jew as he is a awsome fisho i got a jewi last nite only 50 cm but on a 1kg stick and nearly losing the rod i was shacking like it was my first jew

I have a Daiwa Saltist 4500 and this is a very rugged reel for the rocks.

When looking at rods if your going to be moving alot around the rocks i would suggest going fibreglass for your first rod because it is alot more durable against dropping. Graphite does give more feel but..

i actually used a 12ft graiphite rod and im in love most of my 12ft rods are the snyder glass rods that are heay buggers

i havnt had a chance to try mine as the squid have been in shallow water atm for me and the thermal jacket jigs are to big i will be trying it through winter when the squid have gone deep!

i have been using the 2.5 in shallow water with out any problems
