  1. whenever i use xraps i use either 40 or 50 pound, as that gives the maximum action
  2. hey mate. same theing happened to mine and its the exact same motor. would cost round 4 -6 hundread to replace. so instead i went to whitworths and bought this anti rust/anti corosion paint and painted it. painted it w while ago and still very strong with no signs of any more rust. The paints pricey at $40-50 for a tinny tin but its worth it. if you decide to do what ive done make sure you give it a good sand before painting to get all the little rust flakes off. cheers
  3. hey fellow raiders. im after a 2nd hand outboard preferably 2 stroke motor to purchase as my boats a little underpowered. +want low hours +2 stroke +yamaha or etec +between 60-90hp +fairly new (between now and 2004) and good condition does anyone know a good place to get something that fits my description or a good 2nd hand outboard motor shop round sydney?
  4. yeh they really do pull. I hooked it on the my 14 kg miller with a spheros 6000 locked drag (12 kg) and it still managed to pull a little out. I caught him right on that mark where the picture is floating pilly cubes down a trail on unwieghted hook with 20 lb flurocarbon trace
  5. Hey raiders this is a really late report but a couple months back i targeted some king around some of sydney harbour marks. Caught heaps of kings and they held in large number around structure. I managed to get this cobia at 86cm in sydney harbour. You don't hear of many stories of cobia in the harbour, whats your thoughts? (i guess you cam all picture where that is )
  6. has anyone heard of any reports of any yellowfin moving in outside waters off sydney? planning to target some, as soon as there are some numbers moving in? tight lines
  7. hey mate. i wouldn't worry about keeping the squid alive to much. If i downrig with 2 downriggers when i go out and one with a live squid and the other with a fresh caught dead one, the king hammer both at the same time. As long as its fresh and maintained well for that day, your won't have a problem. Also uses the snell rig like the other members have indicated, just try and cover most of the bait with the 2 hooks cause the kings sure get picky sometimes.
  8. na mate didn't have any time yeh luke we will go out soon
  9. hi fellow raiders. got my new boat which is a stacer 529 northen fisher and hit up the sunday fishing. Went down the harbour and caught plenty of bonito, taylor and yes longtom which was wierd, but the markers were full with boats and the lowrance hds sounder said nothing so i headed offhore to take my dad out for once. Only spend 2 hour max out there and managed to troll up 6 nice striped tuna on my light shimano jewel rod which was fun. overall a good session and loved the new boat handled great outside cant wait till next trip tight lines team extren
