Hey raiders, i wanted to report an amazing catch which i caught back in 2009. I love to have a break from the excited kingy and gamefishing every noun and then by going down to botany bay and fishing for some stonker bream. I caught heaps of good sized bream that day fishing with 8 pound flurocarbon mono leader and good fresh pieces of chicken breast (bream love this-i find the best bait to use for bream as its tough and the bream love it). Anyway catching my bag of bream for the day one rod goes off, the fight felt like a shark/ray or something heavy, so i took it slow because of the light leader. after about a 10 minute battle a 99cm Flathead came up which weighed 5.8KG. Which was a stonker catch ive never seen a flatty this big before. As much as i wanted to return it as it was a good breeder it didnt want to swim away and tried to revive it which was very unusual for a flathead. Tight lines Johno

Hey fellow raiders, Looks like it's going to be a cracking day on Sunday for Sydney, thinking to head wide round 12 mile for a marlin run, I haven't seen many reports off Sydney or heard much. Anyone could give me a hand is there is anything out there ?

Hey fellow raiders On Sunday I'm planning to head out of Sydney and pull a few lures for a marlin. I'm thinking to troll from Sydney Fad to the 12 mile and around there. Any ideas, thoughts or tips you could through at me would be great as its my maiden marlin trip out on my boat and I've never caught one. Tight lines Johno

I never burley for my jewfish, but i do throw the head of the squid in and the flaps when not ussed whole. I find hard burleying brings smalller fish around messing around and ruining with well presented baits

Between the Harbour and Ryde Bridge area, in a deep whole with the run in tide, cover all basis of bait of live yakas, filleted yakkas and fresh squid and you'll definately get one, Don't be scared so throw out a big slab of yakka cause all my big jews were caught on that exact bait
