1. not the right spot for this but how do I change my name without re-registering
2. will be interesting..... would you do the same off Bedlam Point (opposite Abbotsford Wharf) must be the narrowest part of Parramatta River Thanks in anticipation Jim....
3. Just for the sport......actually had a go Thursday arvo/evening...........green cabbage around the pontoon so gave that a go for about an hour, nothing then fished with pilchards, salted tuna, beach worms and burleyed up with chook pellets for the next 3 hours, nothing............not even a bite......so 1st attempt was not very successful
4. There is a jetty between Kissing Pt Wharf and Meadowbank Wharf just west of Ryde Bridge. River is narrow here so everything has to go pass this area. Has anyone sounded the bottom around this jetty so we can get an idea of what it's like there?? Would it be a potential spot for blackfish as well? Thanks in anticipation Jim......
5. tonight and last night saw a few good whiting caught on the top of the tide in the evening on live blood worms
6. I've fished for luderick off the ocean rocks . Are they around wharfs say in parramatta river and arethey seasonal?
7. I'd be more worried if it was raining inside
8. I've been using the "Surf Cam" website to get an idea of where the best beach formations are to go fishing. When you watch Narrabeen beach it looks like it just has a long shore break without any gutters or holes compared some of the other beaches close by. Even with the extra swell around to-day it looks the same except just a bigger washing machine. Comments would be welcome as I am learning as well Thanks Jim.....
9. sand flies will do that.......Jim......
10.

when I was young and learning to fish I would practise on the football field. Best I got was with a 4 oz snapper lead and 15lb line on a 7" Alvey using a Butterworth MT8144 rod..... from the dead ball line to over the cross bar at the other end of the field so just over 100m

PS When it snaps however it went well out of the oval and was still going upwards when I lost sight of the sinker...............
11. what bait did you get the luderick on. Got one on a nipper up in Coffs Creek about a month ago
12. My first rod was a JW Black Queen and this was around 40 years ago. Remember spinning with a Baltic Minnow for Redfin in the Lachlan River.......now that was a while ago......
13. 1 tailor and 2 shovel nosed sharks...beautiful night though.....
14. most probably try again tomorrow night
15. PM sent Thanks Jim..
16. I was just south of you about 100m. As the tide went out a north current ripped in , 4 oz lead plus a whole yellowtail or squid was being pushed along at the rate of knots. On the way home I spent about 1/2 hour on the shop side of Pittwater road bridge on the lake for a pan sized bream on salted pillies.
17. Spent last night from 5pm till 2am for 1 tailor (38 cm), missed a couple of runs and had one almightly hit, shake and then nothing....bit thru wire trace. all the action happened up to about 9pm then went dead
18. ....did I forget anything...........change in weather...looks like a low forming off Qld coast so onshore winds and seas this week-end looks the go......nice westerly for the next couple of days....it's flat as a pancake on the beaches/rocks at the moment Jim....
19. ....in theory then this week-end should be good. Full moon. High tide dusk/early evening. High pressure system over us to excite their swimming bladder, and the water temp is still quite warm......did I forget anything?? Good luck all...want to see lots of pics next week
20. ...there were a couple of squid and an octupus caught during the night....
21. Fished a couple of weeks ago with nippers for 1kg Flathead, 600g Whiting, 600g Trevally and nearly 1kg Luderick. (Tried a night session behind the Howie-Mowie for 4 Shovel-nosed Sharks)
22. Fished it last night for 1 Port Jackson Shark. There were 3 live Yakkas out from 5pm to 1am on the bottom, mid level and under a float. It was like Pitt St as usual for the week-end. Only saw a Flathead which was just keepable with lots of small bream thrown back. Even nippers weren't being touched. Very dissappointing on whole after all the chatter of jewies in the harbour at the moment
