  1. sounds like a great day. we found the squid abit tricky on sunday although we started at midday for them and finally got 4. Those big cuttlefish are awesome creatures. Good on you for letting it go, they aren't worth eating anyway. as for octupus, when ive got them on jigs they dont have the same rhymic pulse that squid or cuttles have so I'll call them for weed
  2. I agree with the need for more research and limiting commerical fishing and banning all inshore commerial fishing. However, I don't understand the problems you guys have with divers on marine sites. I don't think divers or underwater flashes has a detrimental effect on marine life I also don't agree with the unconditional opposition to marine parks that most rec fishers have. They have been great in NZ with 'spillage' (ie. fish stocks improving outside of park borders) which is certainly a good thing for us rec fishers
  3. flute mouth in the harbour is certainly strange! well done on a very solid day

    Custom Console

I saw an online ad for a centre console clark abalone (in Sydney), sporting this console, which I thought looked to be an after-market/ custom job. I rang the dude and he says the previous owner bought the console from some business but he didn't know which. If anyone knows who makes these console could they drop me a message cheers
  6. Boat box is awesome ... and they're in Sydney! Thanks mate (fishraider paid off where google failed) here are some photos of the 80's model cruise craft. I think it may have had a cabin and been converted to centre console:
  7. Thanks for Marlin It sounds like we are very much on the same page I guess you having plans for the casting deck that I oculd look at is too good to be true?
  8. I can't post the flicks because this site doesn't allow img linking apparently (though I think I've done it before) I wouldn't really want to try it myself on this boat since it would be my first time working with fibreglass
  9. I have just bought a second hand fiberglass 4.6m centre console. It is fair old and the console looks a bit dinky and is stripped of wheel etc. I have a very preliminary idea regarding customization of the boat : I'd like to get a glasser to cut out and replace the existing console it with a new cleaner console further astern. From the front of the new console I'd like a a raised casting deck about 8" high with storage hatches. I'd just like to hear if anyone has and thought about problems/difficulties associated with this kind of job. Has anyone done anything similar and can anyone recommend a Sydney fibreglass specialist who knows his way around this kind of job. What kind of price could I expect for the work? Thanks for any advice or suggestions (or warnings!) ! Cheers Laredo
