  3. Got a late call from my mate basil friday that were going fishing. Haven't had time to prep my gear so just put everything in my car. Got to his place just before 6am. Only had 3hrs sleep but I'm keen. Went looking for the gps but can't find it so we got to the foreshore ramp around 7am. The wind was blowing a bit. Around 15 to 20 kph. Not looking good. While preparing the boat a guy standing next to me and ask me if I got some spare seasick tablets so gave him 2 tablets for him n his mate. Launched the boat n while I was waiting for my mate at the ramp n rigging up a boat came in next to our boat n told us it's no good to go outside coz the Swell was up. We decided to troll around the heads and see if we can catch anything. I also installed navionics on my phone so I can test it out. Put a couple of new spots to try just outside the heads. Our flatty spot is around 2km out but we don't have the gps. On the way to the heads we saw a school but couldn't hook one on the cd7s. The Swell was still up so we decided to anchor just inside the heads near our favourite spot. My mate swapped the anchor and told me to drop it. So I did but my mate forgot to tie the rope so there goes the anchor. We decided to move outside in around 40m n drift. The Swell was still around 1.5m but the wind has dropped to around 10 kph. It was hard work. We used mullet strips n pillys for bait. Caught 8 flattys in the 40s n 2 flounder. Also caught a pj n a tailor n both went back in.Tried to use the navionics a couple of times to check the new spots but drained my phones battery. Back at the ramp around 3pm. Home around 5pm. Thanks for reading. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

  22. Got to the ramp around 7am. Very surprised to see the car park only had around a dozen trailers. Not a good sign. Got to drive my mates 4.5m tinny. Straight to our snapper spot just outside the heads. Swell was around 1.5m wind around 5kph. Drifted in 24m deep using paternoster rig with squid pills mullet. First fish was caught was a rock fish "poor man's lobster". Throw it back as quickly as I can. Don't want to get %%%%% by this fish coz ill be in a lot of trouble If I did. Drifted for 1hr for only undersize snappers so we decided to move to our flatty spot 1km out in about 50m deep. First drift we caught around 10 flatty up to 60 cm. Plenty of throwbacks. Second drift pick up another 5 keepers. Still plenty of throwbacks. Wind and current picked up so we decided to go inside near molli pt. Anchored for 1hr for nothing so we move near bare island. We then decided to drift and caught 2 soles. Back at the ramp around 2pm. Home around 5pm. The squid and the pillys were the bait preferred by the flattys. Thanks for reading. 23. We use whole pilchards on either two hook or ganged on running sinker or star sinker when targetting aussie salmon off the beach Best times early morning or late afternoon Usually catch plenty in colder months even though you can catch them all year round Goodluck Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
