  1. Hey everyone. I've bought myself a rod recently and really keen to get into fishing properly, been reading up heaps of tips and techniques, and had some good advice, but none of my mates fish. Would be great to meet some locals and hopefully share some local knowledge of the northern beaches, it seems like there are plenty of possibilities around here but so much that I'm a little confused by it all ! I've fished the inlet of narrabeen lake without much success, have been to davidson park and pulled out good numbers of bream but they were all undersized - I'm Doing something right though - I have a basic light weight rod with some kind of invisible mono line, basic tackle and also have a 12 foot beach rod I've borrowed with a bigger reel but haven't used it more than once. Depending what week it is I have either tues/we'd off work, or sat/sun but i also work mon tues we'd nights so I can still get time in the morn/evenin to fish. Thanks in advance, Dominic
  2. Ah nice man, well we weren't there for very long to be honest, the whole fone incident cut things short unfortunately haha, guess we all know what the moral of this story is don't we ! I had 1 rod with a running sinker to a small swivel and about 50cm leader, all 4 lb mono, and the other was braid to swivel (don't know how to tie straight from braid to mono properly so took the safe option) no sinker but didn't get much joy with that one, I landed the bream after about 15 mins
  3. I was up there yesterday fishing off the rock on the picinic side as advised by Mack in my other thread, was just using pillies, and landed a small bream but not much action other than toadfish stealing my bait. session was cut short when the girlfriends took a dive out of her pocket onto the rock then into the water ending in tears !
  4. Hi mack, thanks for the tip ! Will have to have a try next time I go there
  5. Hey all, just signed up, back into fishing after not really touching a rod since I was a kid, went to fish this arvo under Roseville bridge though it would be good given the on/off weather. There were a few others there as well but they didn't appear to be pulling anythig in. Caught about a dozen bream, all undersized so they all went back in the water, but overall pretty happy with my efforts, using really light gear, paid off with a great arvo
