    ID Please

Hey buddy looks like a samson fish to me
  2. Had a nice time down at Waverton bay. Fished with chicken breast for about half an hour and got heaps of nibbles but no hook ups. decided to go back to trusty soft plastics but only managed a small pinky. Still a great arvo that we both really enjoyed.
  3. Good luck mate, haven't fished there before, hopefully you get something.
  4. Cheers Bennoz, Should be a nice arvo. Hopefully something will be on the chew.
  5. Cheers Marky, I'll give the thighs a go. Hoping that this rain will hold out otherwise im going to have to come up with a plan b.
  6. Ha ha, i did forget to mention that there is a picnic involved... It was a bit of a compramise. She is a good girl.
  7. G'day raiders, Im taking my girl fishing tonight in Sydney Harbour in an attempt to get some flatties or bream for a feed. I usually use SP's but tonight im going to opt to bait fish so that its a bit easier for her. Was going to use chicken breast marinated or prawns. Can anyone suggest some rigs to use (sinker size/shape and hook size/shape) and spots to try (we live in Waverton so the north side would be better for us) I really want to get her on to a fish cause if i don't im not sure ill ever get her to come fishing again! Any help is appreaciated Josh
  8. You can try the ledges under the Sea Cliff Bridge.. access is at the start of the bridge on your way north.. You have to climb down a ladder but its pretty easy. you can park your car about 50 meters up the road. Also try Coalcliff beach ledges just watch out for the swell if its up. Enjoy.
  9. Insane! Those things are brutes! Well done.
  10. Dont forget sea temprature

    Fish Id

G'day i caught this fish last year in Waverton Bay Sydney Harbour and i don't know what it is, can you please id for me? I was thinking some kind of baby perch or something? Sorry about the poor quality pic. Cheers Josh.
  15. geez that must have just about pulled your arms out of their sockets! what were you running 50lb braid and 80lb leader? i think that one will be hard to top!
  16. I have a Daiwa Sea Jigger teamed with a Daiwa Sea Gate 3500h and 20lb braid. total cost was about $500. This has caught me about 40 fish off the stones and is still going strong.. It says that you can cast lures up to 100gms but i wouldn't push it past 60gms.
  17. I think this is pretty amazing.. People think that lure fishing is relativly new but switched on fisho's on here have been at it for decades.. for some of you it was 10+ years before i was even born! Its cool to read about your successes especially the tooth brush lure! Keep em coming raiders! If you have never caught a fish on a lure then get out there and try its a really satisfying feeling that will have you 'hooked' for ever! cheers Josh.
  18. Unfortunately there is no cure and from what you have said your condition seems to worsening rapidly..... There is nothing more that can be done for you..... You should take that round the world holiday with your family that you had always planned to but never got the chance.... Now is the time. Im sorry to be the one to break this news to you. Good luck.
  19. I know what you mean im a stick bait junkie. Just when you think you have enough lures out comes something else that looks great... im going to buy a few of those waxwings that shimano have released i used a mates one the other day and they have a wicked wobble that you know is just going to get smashed by something this summer! Great intro to lures a mangrove jack they are definitely on my hit list!
  20. They weren't my friends it was in the news a few months back.
  21. Hey Raiders, Dunno if this has been asked before but, after reading a post about a first catch on a lure it got me thinking; there is something special about that first catch on a lure. So i would like to know: What was your first catch on a lure? What lure was it? When? Where? Mine was a 15cm approx Pinky Snapper on a Gulp Pumpkin seed worm in Waverton Bay 2 years ago. I had been fishing with plastics for about 2 months with out any luck until i cast out and bang something smashed my lure and peeled some line off my 2500 size reel. This little baby came to the surface shortly after. I have been hooked ever since. Josh
