  1. Ive not fished there before but i know 2 guys lost there lives there earlier this year.. even though its inside the harbour i know that during a big swell waves hit middle head.. watch out for the nudie beach and the dudes creeping around in the bushes with the wangs out!
  2. It's exciting getting that first fish on a lure.. mine was a pinky snapper about 15cms on a pumpkin seed worm. Good work mate. Flatties love a plastic im sure you will get many more now!
  3. Great work! I have never managed a jewie but hope to one day. They are amazing looking fish.
  4. Cheers for the reply. ill check out Manly Dam i think lots of people seem to talk about that spot
  5. Hey mate, For flatties i don't think it really matters.. you want the plastic to be incontact with the bottom.. Bream i would definitely go lighter... as light as you can actually. I've fished as heavy as 1/4 in shallow water for flatties and still got a few. I just did a slow roll across the bottom almost dragging the plastic along the bottom. Actually i got one on the weekend by doing that very thing. Good luck Josh
  6. G'day Raiders, All this talk of bass fishing has got me fired up to try and catch my first bass. I was hoping that one of you might be able to point me to where i might be able to catch them. I live on the north shore of Sydney Harbour (Waverton) are there any locations near by that i could try my luck? I have heard of Manly Dam before but was wondering if there was anywhere closer? Im not after your specific secret spots, more so just areas near by that i could try. Cheers Josh.
  7. There you go. My brother used to work there and deal with those guys.. he told me of an absolute monster that they pulled out of there a couple of years back.
  8. I know that in Centenial Park Syd that a fishing club (that i can't remember the name of) have permission to go in and fish the ponds there and pull out HEAPS of Carp. Maybe you could contact the parks and golf courses and ask them if they would mind you having a cast in their ponds?
  9. Why are we forced to be bored at work when we could be fishing? Bring on the weekend.

  12. Stan there is a ripper article by Starlo in the latest modern fishing on Cobes. You should pick it up for a read. They are awesome looking fish i reckon they look like sharks when they are in the water from a distance.. Apparently there was a small one taken from the stones at Nth Curly last year.
  13. Nice work Langa, Im going to try for some whiting on surface lures myself this year as i just purchased some nice walk the dog pencils and stick baits.. I had a great practise on some tailor in Berowa Waters a few weeks back and have honed my technique. Cant wait for the water to warm up and the fishing to fire!

  19. 100mm Blood worm wriggler is hard to beat but i have had some good luck on the paddle tails in grass hopper
  20. mate that is a ripper of a fish and especially getting on the rod reel and string that you did!! Great work! they seem to be out and about at the moment in the harbour.. well done Josh
  21. There is some amazing colours in those flatties! Nice catch.
  22. I fished Chinamans a few weeks back and scored a nice flatty. Fished Balmoral 1 week ago and didn't get anything.. was pretty windy but.. Just get out there and cast your arms off!!!
  23. I had been fishing this location for a few hours and had seen many sets of waves in this time. NONE of them even came close to washing over the ledge as i was packing up to leave this one wave came and washed about 1ft water over the ledge (would have hit about knee hight on the higher ledge where i was fishing. Where the guy was trying to land his fish it would have hit about head hight)The surf was relatively calm on the day i was fishing so although it may not be a true dictonary description of a 'freak' wave, it was certainly freakish for the waves that i seen on the day.
