  1. Gday Raiders. Was driving the boat past Balmoral and saw 2 fins crusing along the surface, A dorsal and a tail of a shark. It was a brownish colour and about 2.5 to 3mtrs from tip to tip. I tried to get up close to get a better look, got within 5 mtrs but the water was dirty and litterd with leaves and storm water run off i couldnt get a better look. Any ideas on what type, maybe a bronzey or a bull, just a guess. Cheers
  2. You will hit the peak of snapper season for sure. im a vic just moved up this year. Ive fished port phillip for years. i fish out of mordialoc and patterson river, if you want to do a charter you best bet is with reel time charters, i see them when we are on the water and back at that ramp. If your coming down the coast, stop at lake tyres for sure. you can camp and you have the lake and the surf to fish. tambo, and lakes entrance are great as well. mornington pier is a go for snapper as well. if for some reason you get your hands on a boat oreven you hire boats from mordialoc and frankston. if you can get a hand gps, i can give you a heap of marks close to shore that will be very snapper friendly. hope u have a good time. this is my first snapper season ill be missing for years......booooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  4. hahahahahah cheers. I was going for the before and after shot hahah.
  5. Good day around the island on Friday. Had schools of salmon early and they loved the nuclear chicken sp's, but so did the tailor. Lost a heap b4 the school went deep. Started to sound through the pass and the sounder lit up. We dropped the plastics and whack. The rod tip was bouncing and doing circles. Got to love a trevelly fight. Everything was hitting the plastics, even the large yaccas. We stripped one and sent it down. 20 min later the rod buckles over and all I can think is kingy. But the run was short and just a dead weight boooooooo. A port Jackson. We ended up getting 4 and all went back in the drink. On the way home we trolled hoping for a great finish to the day and bang, the reel screams of and we are thinking kingy again , but its just a dirty cuta hahahahah. Ah well, just going to have to head back out and keep trying, goto love that.

  11. Hi all, Just moved to sydney from melbourne. I fish the snapper seasons and the tuna in portland but now im a fish out of water. I live near rosville bringe and im loving it. My goal is to bang a nice king, hairtail, and a jew. I no this will take a while as i need to put the time on the water. Ive been out twice and cruised to the heads. i notice just before the spit bridge a heap of boats in close. Are they targeting kings?????. i also noticed most guys use the gangs. im tipping there are some toothy fish about. With the morings, can i just hook up to any or are they private property. and lastly on plastics. i had a little flick and had 1 mighty hit. felt flatty like but dropped it shortly after. i lost a heap of tails, leather jackest im tipping, i only saw the canoe guys ficking. Is it worth it or is it just there are bigger fish outside no one really targets the bream and flattys in the river. im lovin this site as it will help me get my target fish. Would love any help or tips even tho im a x victorian haha.
