hey mate, i fish the clyde a few times a year but havent been down since jan. hopefully i see a good report from you as I am back down that way just after you. good luck!
  3. haha all I meant was there were so many boats around channel as you enter the lake from swansea, it felt like a carpark.
  4. hotwater outlets near the power stations always hold fish just check if there is any exclusion zones
  5. I fished the carpark that is sometimes called lake mac on sunday morning we only landed one tailor going 45cm hooked one other probably bigger but it jumped and spat the hooks. I wasnt in the comp just up there for the weekend. we fished outside on saturday, got heaps of jackets and undersize flathead. all up not a very succesfull weekend
  6. i have seen rats eat through green otto bins to get to chook pellets, we started storing feed in steel trash bins instead.
  7. unlucky mate, I have caught a fair few tailor down there and they are well known for killing plastics. nice looking colour lure
  8. last year I did almost the exact same job to a mates trailer we ran alloy diamond plate right down the centre so its nice and grippy under your feet. also did some rust repair and resprayed the whole job in cold gal. did about 16hrs work on it for free but I dont pay for fuel on our trips now so will work out in the long run. one tip we discovered is making the walkway as wide as you can that way you can just walk up and down the trailer without having to worry about your footing.
  9. i have had the exact same problem at windang not sure it is just willy weather I check BOM and seabreeze too, they are all wrong for the bridge change just add two hours and it is close.
  10. just wondering fellow z-man users have encounter this, a couple of different zmans of mine have started to go soft and sticky. they were all pretty new but cant use them now. some were grubs in the greeny brown colour and some white minnows did the same thing. not sure what I have done wrong.
  11. if you are walking keep everything as light as possible, waders are to keep you warm as much as anything else, water will be about 20 degrees and wader will allow you to stay comfortable for a lot longer.
  12. nice fish, i only started really using them this winter but they are fast becoming the first thing I tie on
  13. I fished st clair recently which is a similar water hole. deep divers about 6 metres in dark colours got our fish.

awesome fish mate, plus 1 on the 40cm models looking like bait!
  15. I have made a couple of aluminium walkways and in my opinion they are the best option made out of diamond plate then screwed down to the cross members , the wider you can make the walkway the easier it is.
  16. nice mate, I was going to hit the bass yesterday but a hangover from the wanderers game plus all that smoke screwing with my lungs kept me away, but maybe i should've manned up
  17. nice work there, might need to try small unweighted shrimp pattern SPs
  18. if its calm, between snapper island and the toll gates is a good drift for flatheads, there is some gravel in front of snapper I have caught whiting and bream with nippers. soft plastics through the bridge and bream under the power lines up river a bit for bream and jewies. im heading down for the long weekend, lookout for a report see if what I tell you is worth while or not
  19. ive got a 10 foot shimano steve starling series spin stick, nice and light have used it for throwing anything from 25g slices down to unweighted prawns for blackfish work great and you can cast it all day without getting too tired, have it match with a 4000 shimano reel
  20. was down there at the start of july and mid june, we had really good days both times, lots of drummer, groper, salmon and trevs
  21. just wondering what raiders if any have been targeting bass on blade lures and what techniques have been successful. got a mate who has been doing alright on them with slow lifts then winding the slack similar to flathead fishing with plastics. I am yet to crack a fish on the blade style lure and living in penrith, bass is the closest sport fish to have a go with
  22. banjo sharks are meant to be very good eating, and they pull pretty good on light gear so dont be dissapointed
  23. I have a dagger kayak drifter II model. love it, but it was 1200 new. you can get second hand ones for about 700-800 havnt used the cheaper sit on top models, but if possible try to do a water test first with all the gear you might take with you on a standard fishing trip.
  24. Hinomoya is another good japanese brand, available on the online auction site. just have to weed through all the garbage jigs on that site first
