  2. I was using the rip tide mullet 3inh in rubbarb colour.

The big girl was a joint effort with my mate. Where i catch the live yellow tail for bait and my mate with one bait rod between us. So his rod his on strike first and pulls out a 70. That was released back to live another day. Next I'm up and straight on after a short fight got the big girl. After the photo she was released. Next yakka gets smashed by a mtr plus girls. Mate gets excited and strikes to early and losses the fish lol. Oh well next time as they are there all the time.

  3. Went for a night session on the weekend flicking round some plastics. ended up with 6 on Friday and 7 on Saturday and had a good feed on Sunday with the family. All on the change of tide. With some of the bid girls all released. All fish kept went from 40-58. The big girl went 80cm and that is another story.

  5. Mate try the Savage Gear vibe as they are only $15 and are highly effective on flatties, bream and EP'S.

River 2 Sea and Cranka Also make really good vibes for around the same price so it does not sting so much when you loose one.

  6. I owned the exact same reel, it is the "American" Luvias, same parts, if something goes wrong with it, you can order the Ozzie luvias equivalent part.

The only difference is in the weight of the body, slightly lighter thanks to magnesium, as far as I'm concerned, that reel is even lighter than the CI4 series compare to their line capacity.

Anyway, good little machine, I kept it 4 years and ended up acting silly chasing drummers and bonies on light gear, no good ! One season has been fatal ! :P

You'll have great fun on light estuary species, the drag is the only crappy thing on that reel, as most of the drags were on that generation of daiwa.

That said, until 800 / 1 kg drag pressure, the thing is more than acceptable.

    Have fun!

Thanks mate really appreciated the feed back good to know if anything goes wrong I can get parts for it.

  7. Went for a quick session on sat night with a few mates. It was a really quiet night with a few fish with a few surprises along the way. My mate got a mullet on plastic and my other mate got a blackfish on a grub. Then as we are about to leave my mate gets a Jew around the 70cm and I get hammered by something which by the looks of it was a small Jew but lost it halfway through the fight. Anyways that's fishing.

I was talking to my mate about getting into fishing with light gear. He told me that he had a combo for sale. A lox yoshi 1-3kg rod and a team Diawa fuego reel in the 1000A. Now loaded with 4lb braid for fun. For them both for the price of the rod. Has anyone used the Diawa before and if so what is it like? Any feed back is appreciated.

  8. Just a quick one. Went for a flick last night with two fellow raiders down at Windang. Managed to get a 65cm flatty that was released. Bagged out my self with a solid feed of flatty's.

Tan got 4 or 5 flatty's and lost a good size Jew. This would have been his first on plastics. Always next time.

Kent got two flatty's and his very first Jew that went 60cms. What a feeling to help him hook and land his first Jew. Could not get the smile of his face.

    Everything was caught on plastics.
