  1. Dont tell anyone but i couldnt get bloodworm and had to use wasabi. Yeah had a good sesh in berowra more flatties and a heap of soapies, none legal but up to 44 and they put up a good fight. Yet to crack my first real jew but getting warmer.

I have got some down at Windang up to 90cm so might be able to get one their on the run out tide.

  2. No secret Im yet to meet someone who cant land a flatty on a bloodworm wriggler, cant beat them. I was sure it was a jew the way she stripped the line off.

Yeah they loved your bloodworm wriggler. Yeah she did take some, I did have a smaller one take more line then that big one I got down the coast. Johnny said you got some Jews the other day?

  3. Number two went 60 on the nose.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge it was a good night, you rep is safe as the flatty whisperer!

Will have to come out for a harbour sesh when i get back from the basin.[/quotes sounds like a plan should be fun chasing kings. Got one on Sunday with Johnny only a rat. Not much but great fun on light gear.

  4. Some good fish there. Use to catch plenty of flatties as a kid when fishing down that way.

I count 14 flatties in the first photo, did you run out of fingers and toes to count 13 in your estimation? :sun:

One don't count was given to us bye someone that don't eat fish.

  5. I'll start with Friday night and boy was it fun.

My dad asked me to take him fishing and show him how to use soft plastics for flattys. Well down to old faithful and arrive at 9pm. Great timing with the tide changing, that is what I was thinking.

We did not get a bite for the first 2 hours then it was on with cast after cast hooking up. But looked at my dad and had no idea what he was doing so I put the rod down and started to give in a few tips.

Between giving home some tips I was watching a nice flatty moving around on the sand flat, pointed it out to the old man and with his first cast he hooked up tight to the biggest flatty between us at 55cm. All up over 4 hours we ended up with 13 for the night.

Monday Night what a night to remember with the brother in law. Got down to Windang around 11pm with it being between tide but did notice a few squid zipping round. First cast got a nice little inker then dropped another 2. Changed to a lighter jigg and again straight on with another then dropped 3 more.

Ted started to run in and the all vanished.

So on with the plastics first cast we are both on to to solid flattys. Over the next hour we both get stretched by 80cm Plus models with both straightening the hooks.

Over the next 3 hours it is fish after fish and we thought that we had both bagged out but when we got home and counted up their was only 19 (maybe next time).

All fish have been split up between family members with open arms. What a great night to bond with my brother in law. Now it's time to eat some fillets.

  7. Yet again, well done. Single handedly decimating the Illawarra flattie population.

Also, grats to Anth on his bigger model. I'll bet he wanted to kill the guy for tangling him at the most inopportune time, too. Jeez, some people...

He said thanks mate and to come over for a session.

  8. nice work

wonder who this shadow is lol

Was it the same spot as last friday? I pulled 3 out of that little hole there and two of them were just after you left

Yeah that was the first stop then to the other side for the bigger one.

  9. When's for a late night session with my brother in law last night. Got down their about 12 to catch the end of the run out tide.

Got their but no one was catching anything (silly people using bait) so we both headed down to our little gutter.

First cast we are bouth on to nice fish with the next few cast coming up gold for us. Then like a shadow this guy pops up from no where and starts to fish right of my shoulder. Bite slows so the two of us move to a different gutter.

Again the first few cast produce for us then again my shadow returns. Next thing Anth has line being stripped of his reel. And up come a nice flatty that went 68cm. His first over 60 so he wants to take it home To share with his mum and dad. But the shadow casts right next to the fish and gets tangled with Anth. That is it out comes the scissors I cut old mates line and tell him to move on (get lost).

Any way for the night we end up with a few more between us and I was getting really early in the morning so we called it quits and headed home.

Great little session and glad I could help Anth catch his PB and end up with a solid feed.

  10. Top stuff man.

I drove all the way down there last week with my dad. I have no idea how that channel is fished. About 10 years ago, we did fine there, we did awesome. Until they done all that fancy stuff with the mouth of the system, the flow of water is insane and the runout made it near impossible to fish due to the amount of weed and junk being washed down. I was fishing on the Sydney side of the bridge though, I didn't cross to the other side. All I saw get pulled out there was 2 under sized bream. I would have loved to get even 1 flatty.

Yeah mate the tide can pump through their but if you fish it right you can get a good feed out off there. In the smaller channels and between the smaller islands the water does Not run through there as quick and you should pick up some fish through those areas.

  11. about 1 hour into the run in tide. was on the bridge got a few but nothing so went for a walk and got most from the banks on the south side.

you from Narellan mate im at Ctown. PM me and next time i head ill let you know if your up for a session.

  12. Went for a quick flick with my neighbour last night down at Windang to see if we could get onto flattys. Started of really slow but ended with 6 fish landed in the last 30 min.
Met a few fellow raiders down their as well.
