  1. Nice Jewie mate, well done. Did well considering the weather this week.
  2. Well done guys, Awesome fish and video. Regards, Paddy
  3. Gazza, I am 100% certain as I stated I only just motored from the ramp straight out 1/3 way towards the runway , where as the Moron was towed in from the heads or oil wharf which was a long way away from my movements. I always look around,it's part of being a responsible skipper and as much as it may ruin your day it is your responsibility to render help when required, that's probably what peeved me the most that I would help a boat in need but got yelled/cursed at for not helping. I am certain my boat was mistaken for another that may have been in their vicinity. So not only was this guy a moron,he was a blind moron!
  4. Sounds like we all have had a taste of inconsiderate people but thankfully the majority of boaties/fishos are decent . Thanks for your thoughts and experiences on this matter. Regards, Paddy
  5. The ramp is much better since it was upgraded to two lane, pontoon and dredged. However on low tide I have to trim the motor as high as possible and still stir up weed and also engage 4x4 to pull up the ramp but I can still get in & out on a .3mtr low with a 6mtr Haines.
  6. Well a late start 11am from Kurnell boat ramp and straight out to the red markers for a flattie drift. Not long after pulling up and first baits in the water We see a boat getting towed from the direction of the oil wharf towards us and as they were towed past a moron on the towed boat says to us"Thanks for coming to help us You F%#king F%#wit repeat repeat,I looked at my mate and we are thinking what's his problem. If a boat is in need of rescue/tow I would never motor past and ignore giving assistance but this guy clearly must have mistaken my boat for another, we only passed one boat from the ramp to where this happened and it was not him(one on board) the towed boat had 3 on board and was being towed by a grey/white cabin boat with 2 on board. I really was peeved by this moron but forgot about it and moved to Towra were we hooked up to some nice flatties, whiting and undersized snapper. I caught 2 flatties on a plastic prawn which was my first time to catch with plastics so I was fairly happy with that. Got caught in 2 heavy showers, had to get in the cabin and sit 1 out to stay dry but a mate fished the hacking and got hailed upon. All in all a good day with a feed to take home. Cheers
  7. Hi there, where can I find the link to the weather and sea breeze? Or is it now gone?. Thanks
  8. Hey Mark,Welcome back and thanks for bringing the sun back with You.Looks like you and the family had a blast, nice one.A little quiet on the fishing front here at the moment but still plenty of flatties and the odd red.Water temp is slowly climbing so should not be long now before its firing.Catch you soon,Regards,Paddy
  9. Great report mate,Much the sentiments of most finisho's at the moment.Bring on the warmer months and day light saving.Paddy.
  10. Photos attached. Be careful on low tide,I noticed a drop off at the end of the ramp and if your trailer wheels go past You may struggle getting out. Some official looking people checking it out today,I hope they noted the dredged sand washing back over the ramp ,as over time it will become shallower as a result. Regards, Paddy
  11. Kurnell boat ramp opened today. Looks great but still need to launch/retrieve by the tides(low tide too shallow). Still work to be done on the surroundings, flush area and the parking. Signage in place warning about the depth, damage to seagrass etc, basically covering their ar@$. Regards, Paddy
  12. 45 Jobs created on the trawler for locals but I would expect these jobs are only casual. How many long term jobs will go if the fishing is dessimated?. I cannot believe there is not a political outcry about this. Australia has approx 5 million recreational anglers ,We should have an association, one united voice and you can bet the pollies would be clambering for our support then and we would not even be discussing the super trawler.
  13. Well done mate, Some nice fish there, you gotta be happy with that. Paddy
  14. Nice reds mate, I just noticed ur secret weapon ! Them xxxx lures in the bait bucket - You ever need a fishin buddy mid week let me know as I tend to be off mid week a lot being a shift worker. Regards, Paddy
  15. Welcome Sam, Sounds like a fun day with mates. Better luck next time. Paddy
  16. Received my order the other day. Got to say these lures look impressive plus the benefit of packing bait inside,I can't wait to get them in the water.
  17. Went out yesterday morning from botany, trolled around the heads before heading south. No takers on the troll but plenty showed up on the sounder. Bottom bashed in about 70' off Kurnell lighthouse with plenty fish showing again on the sounder in our burley, only after changing to lighter gear caught some small trevally which went back. Wind and current very strong so headed home. Did have fisheries pull up alongside for a license and fish inspection,no probs. Like yourself not a good days fishing but better than been at work. regards, Paddy.
  18. Hi mate, I went there this avo to see if any work happening on the ramp only to find the road,Bonna point reserve and beach all barricaded off with security guard on gate because of this wolverine movie they are filming. I could not believe it,we were only told the work on the ramp would stop while the movie was happening but no mention of the full on closures. I expect a lot of locals and visitors will be peed off as they cannot use the park or beach to walk the dog, exercise or fish the point.. In answer to your question about launching from the beach, well that area is barricaded, the only exposed access to the beach is where the barricade fence line starts,I think you would be better launching elsewhere for now. Just a note on the ramp. I contacted Robert Brown from the fishers & shooters party today and have had a cc'd reply from him To Duncan Gay the minister for waterways. I expect I,m fighting a loosing battle but you got to have a go. At least the future generations will have a useable ramp when global warming rises the water level!. Paddy
  19. Well done mate, Great way to cure a hangover. Where did you fish? From the groins I presume. I live here in .kurnell and often see that guy on the kayak and looked at buying one myself,I have seen them new at BCF for $550 but with a paddle not peddles and on online shop. Search for fishing kayak as they come with rod holders and bait compartments etc. Regards Paddy
  20. Kurnell boat ramp should be reopen in August with further works continuing on parking etc after the actual ramp is done. The ramp would have finished sooner but works have stopped because of the Hollywood film set for a new wolverine movie filming where They constructed a complete Japanese pow camp with huts and watch towers etc . A WORD OF CAUTION WITH THE NEW RAMP. THE NEW RAMP WILL NOT GIVE YOU ANY BETTER ACCESS THAN THE OLD ONE,BECAUSE THEY ONLY EXTENDED IT A FURTHER 200mm. IT WILL BE DOUBLE LANE WITH A PONTOON,GREAT BUT ONLY ACCESSABLE ABOUT 75% OF THE TIME. I HAVE BEEN FLAT OUT IN CONTACT WITH THE MAYOR ,!DEPUTY MAYOR AND M Speakman the local MP and now to the minister Duncan Gay, I await a reply from his dept as council are saying that because of fisheries restrictions over the seagrass nothing else can be done and that's that!. They tell me this was decided by council and more so by fisheries because of a small section of protected seagrass at the ramp. I said common sence would suggest they constructed the new ramp in a different spot, most likely the opposite side of the groin at the same cost since they were building a new one anyway. The other important fact is the ramp was supposed to be an alternative emergency evacuation route or access for emergency services,I hope if we have to evacuate it will be high tide. Last week I took photos 2 hours past low tide and the water was 1mtr from the bottom of where the ramp will end. Kurnell ramp will be useless 60-70% of the time because of this rare seagrass that will most likely get thrashed by boats struggling to get in/out on low tide, yet this rare seagrass Did not stop the desalination plant running a pipeline across the bay or energy aus laying a new cable across the bay or the new port but poor old kurnell's boat ramp forget it. The constructors have also said the sand dredged for the new ramp is already washing back in,what a total waste of our tax and license dollars. On top of this they have blocked the old access off the side we used to get in,out on low. If anyone on here has any political influence could you please look into this. Paddy
  21. Well done mate. Perserverance paid off and it ended quiet nice once the sun came through. What lures did you troll ? Cheers Paddy.
  22. Well done mate, Time to get him his own rod or your fishing days are over and you become a spectator. Paddy
  23. Awesome effort mate, This is what ch10 should be showing instead of "The Shire" rubbish. The palegic 50 you mentioned,is that one of those Taiwanese reels?. Again well done to you and your mates. Paddy.
