  1. Yeah check those winds. I fished the harbour last sunday. It was pretty barren. Couldn't get squid. Couldn't find salmon. Couldn't find tailor. Swarms and swarms of baby snapper. Got two good flounder equal to half a normal thickness fish lol.

Id try else where or try the afternoon see if you can find the tailor and salmon playing around.

  2. I am more than happy to take you out Sarge... I have one little problem though, my new car is in the shop with a blown head gasket (the missus killed it). Not sure when I will get it back. Hopefully before you go back to work. Sorry dude, unforeseen circumstances have a habit of showing up when you need them the least.

If you have a car though we can take I don't see an issue. :)

Damn lol but im still keen. I drive a skyline but ill probably be coming with pete so its not a practical car for 3 guys plus gear. Ill try organise something. Pm me which you can fish and ill try make it happen!

  3. Doesn't using bait to catch trout take away from every bit of catching trout? Trout, barra and bass are the fish I believe takes true skill to catch and should only be done with lures. Hopefully Luc can show me around the area in the next two weeks ive got off work !! :D

  4. Awesome stuff man. I was out this Sunday in and around the harbour. It was barren. I couldn't even get squid! Hoards and hoards of snapper. Burlied pretty hard for trevs and nothing showed up. Caught all up 2 flounder which were good size, pushing nearly 38cm and also a flathead which I kid you not was probably the same size as my zman grub, just an inch or two longer. No salmon about. Our motor decided not to start too which is probably an indication of using the boat much less and fuel sitting far too long. On the way back home near a popular king spot there was an insane amount of fish and birds busting up. By the time lines were ready to be cast they had moved on. Ah well!

Awesome stuff man. Are there any good sized snapper that way up the harbour? The biggest ive pulled there was about 20cm rofl.

  5. Thats the same stuff we used to have in the chem labs at school. If they use it where acids and other chemicals are used, it'll be awesome for the boat. Good grip, non porous and easy to clean. Would it dry up at all under the sun? The sun and general heat usually kills rubber.

  6. Good stuff man, those fish are great fun. Wait til you hook one up in a river or estuary. Its so much more fun than off the beach, the fish becomes a projectile and flies out of the water doing all sorts of stunts.

  7. I came across this video as suggested by youtube. It looks like an awesome place to fish but moreso an even better place to hike.

The guys state its in NSW and not on the central coast. I think the only way this place could be ID'd is via the waterfall at 1min 30.

    Video attached.

It can't be too hard to find since another guy posted on the video saying he caught a nice fish there, just shortly after it was posted.

  8. My old motor was a VRO which had the oil pump stuff removed so it required premixing of oil and fuel. The downside I see is letting the premix fuel/oil sit for too long in the carbs it can gum them up. Oil starvation to an engine is not a good thing. Ever. If you can reliably fix the VRO pump and ensure its working, you'll be fine but if you're questioning the work or your own work, for a moment, I'd ditch it and go premix.

  9. The worst is if you give them a chance to hit the bottom. Its usually game over. Ive only lost one battle with a stingray. It was absolutely unstoppable. I held the spool and got my mate to grab hold the back of my shirt so I don't go in. We both almost landed in the water. This one was weird. It was a really slow swimmer but the amount of power it had was brutal. Ive got a video of it somewhere.

  10. Man you guys make carp sound so easy to find and catch. I went out today tried the upper reaches of parramatta river for donuts. If carp are there in plagues, where were they today lol. I saw one kick its tail up on the other side of the shore and that was it. I really wanna get into them. I read that there are a crap ton in centennial park. Quick google search suggests you can't fish that pond there and if you want to, its gonna cost you $750 to do it legally. What the hell. They want to get rid of these fish. On the website it says carp are pests, ruining the environment, killing off native fish, we need them gone, then on the next line ILLEGAL TO FISH UNLESS YOU PAY $750 of your own money to clean OUR water ways. Damnit if you want me to get rid of the fish for you, don't charge me $750. Kiss my ass, for $750 the carp can live and thrive there for all I care.
