  1. Went out for an early morning fish on Wednesday(sorry about the late report), a few hours into it I pull this beautiful looking fish out. Does anyone know what it is? It measured 26cm, put up a bit of a fight. Chucked it back in the water, but was tempted to eat it.
  2. I heard about Parsley Bay being a nice place to fish, so I checked it out yesterday afternoon. Once I got there I had to pull out the rod and wet my line, used fresh prawns and got nice bites all afternoon but pulled nothing out Left to go home at about 5pm but this little voice inside my head kept saying "stay, stay, stay, come back later then"...so I did with my two brother in-laws. We got back down their at 9:00 pm, rigged up and got busy. All we got for 2.5 hours were some baby snapper, an ugly eel, a rock fish and two tiny banded morwong's (I think). It looked like things had got quiet when all of a sudden I hear "ooooohhhhhh, I've got something big" and sure enough he pulled out a 23cm Tarwhine Bream He pops his lunch into a bucket, casts out into the same spot and within a minute he's on again, it looked like he'd plucked his last fish's twin, only a few CM's bigger (25.5cm). He ended up making a beautiful Thai style Bream pic below
  3. Wow what a shame, did this happen down at Green Point...or on the rocks somewhere else?
  4. Thought I'd have my morning coffee down at Green Point just left of Camp Cove, it was such a nice day and I've never fished off rocks before so I thought I'd give it a crack. Tried a hard plastic for a while and got nothing, I whacked on some fresh squid and again nothing, so I pulled out my trusty fresh prawns and bang I'm on...15cm Bream, tossed the little bugger back in the drink, next cast using the same bait from the last hookup, bang on again , this was a bit bigger but not by much, a 19cm Black Bream. Unfortunately I couldn't stick around longer, had to go to work, but I had an enjoyable morning
  5. headed out at about 9pm last night to Rose Bay wharf, where some mates have had fun with snapper and even a Kingy would you believe. We stayed out until 12:30am and we pulled in was a tiny snapper and a an ugly rock fish. I'm starting to get disillusioned with fishing in the east, surely with all this water around, there are some good fishing spots???
  6. Hi Fellow Raiders, I live in Maroubra and I hear there is some good fishing in the area??? Although I am happy to travel around as long as I learn how and where to catch Yakkas, squid and of course a Kingy. I have my own gear, although I have no idea if it is suitable for what I want to do. Would love for someone to mentor me. message me if you are interested. cheers ExtremeT
  7. Hi I'm Sal, AKA extremeterror, I'm an old computer gamer and "extremeterror" has been my handle for years. Now I wish I could catch fish like I can play games!!! I was introduced to fishing at an early age by my dad, he was and still is a keen fisherman...I've always loved fishing but have never been that passionate about it, until now! I want to learn about rods, reels, tackle, bait, live bait, what and how to catch everything especially a KINGY! So I'm on here everyday from now on, looking to learn from all of you. Cheers
