hi all would like to try my hand at having a go at black fishing,after reading all reports on the subject it seems very exciting and challenging. i live in mt.druitt have a sound knowledge in fishing,plenty of gear and transport. its been recommended on many sites to go out with a professional for your first couple of outings,so if there is anybody interested in teaching me a few pointers it would be greatly appreciated. regards john

spent 4hrs down roseville yesterday fished just right of the new ramp for bugger all. unweighted prawns,pillies,squid,chicken and even flicked a couple of plastics, i did get a few undersized bream very undersized. maybe an off day, as ive landed a few nice size salmon around the over head pipe before,interesting speaking to a few locals who are not happy with the new pontoon apparently they think its too high, and i have to agree watching an elderly fellow having trouble getting into his boat although it was only half tide. good day though made two new friends

for around $100-$160 you can get yourself an alvey reel which you can use and pass on to your grandkids.

wont be selling it scotty,its been passed down from an uncle who passed away 15 years ago,i would say it would be 20 yrs old atleast

ive just been given a len butterworth fish hunter (M.T.814? dont know what the last number is.been scratched. (2-4 ozs) 3.9 m does anyone know anything about this type of rod soft or hard action ? feels quite strong? what kg. line would be suitable? the reel sits 20cm off the bottom of rod so ive put a 650 alvey on it cheers john
