Hi Guys, I am desperate to get a decent king or jew in Sydney Harbour and cant master the most important parts - catching live squid! I am tryed many times in and around Manly cove, Balmoral etc with no luck. I have tryed casting the lures and retreiving, drifting and jigging lure all with no luck. I have tryed all tyres and size lures. Who can point me in the right direction? It would be very much appriciated.

Hi Guys very nice catch! Do you float out the squid or send it out weighted? Is it best drifting or on anchor?

Well done top catch. We used to get many good Kings & Jews from the harbour many years ago but in the last 10 years i have got none so i tend to not fish there. I was hoping you could she some light on where i could catch some live slimies and squid? That maybe a good starting point for me to get a nice kingie.

It was a little south and i think the place is called Malua Bay. Really nice fishing area.

We got this decent flathead from manly on a live Squid. Still waiting for that Jew. Its been a long time between drinks.

I gave my 5 year old a rod with a squid jig and this is what he caught all alone.

Sorry Guys i am new to site and it is my first post. This Jew was caught at Forster 2 weeks before Xmas on a Live Pike. A local caught it at 6.15pm on the southern breakwall. We didnt weigh it there but was well over 30kgs. My son that is standing next to the fish is close to 30 kgs. It was wider that a fish market box! Was a really nice fish.
