  1. Great report well done on the flatties sound like you had some fun on the light gear awesome picture taking stlye With both arms strecthed out as for the boat YOU HAVE CAUGHT MORE FLATTIES ON YOURS THAN I HAVE ON MINE 5m glass bowrider the size of the boat dont mean much it is all in the FISHO Cheers leaky181
  2. Hi All I (we) own a 5m Bowrider (glass) at present and are looking at going the other way to this thread UPSIZING well at least we where thinking that. At the moment I Launch\Retreive, the will take the empty trailer up the ramp and park it, she wont reverse down with the same empty trailer then i clean, wash and polish all solo. Why would i want to upsize??? The reason I would is so I can go further out and fish deeper waters in different conditions and be SAFE is it really worth the extra added hassle of upsizing and having more work to do by myself just to hopefully catch bigger fish that I would then have to gut scale blah blah blah. So I say before you look at upsizing which in turn leads to downsizing look at the future and talk to as many more advanced (old) boaties as you can and honestly look at what you currently do with your boat as to what a BIGGER boat will dofor you. I know I will probably go to a 5.5-6m Cuddy down the line beacuase I will still be able to Trailer the boat to anywhere holidays takes us. I will still be able to cruise the harbour. I will still be able to fish and ski. but I will have the added advantage of being able to go further out than I can now, which is not far at all, and catch bigger fish. The kids will get more involved in the help as they get older and get their car liscences and I know the wife does what she can and i love her for that. The boat was a family desicion unfortunatley it is up to me to maintain it for now. After all the hours spent on the water and the memories that they have generated I would not change a thing. If and when the boat gets to hard to handle I will just hand it (sell It) to one of the kids and then get them to take us out and finnally get my own back on them. Just my thoughts on Boat ownership Cheers That started as such a short post Leaky181 (Kyle)

    Holidays

Good Luck and be safe wished i could get some leave at this time could with a break Cheers
  8. I have stayed in motels that that good. But i could come and go as i pleased i wonder if this prison is for white collar crimanals only Cheers
  9. The rules on our boat are simple if you have a rod in your hand and there is a fish attached to that rod then you caught the fish !!! If you are silly enough to hand your fishing rod to another person to hold then you are to silly to reel in the fish. So therefore i say person B gets the fish. I have a couple kids the amount of times that my rod is in the water just sitting there whilst working on the kids lines re hooking baiting de tangling birds nest etc someone picks up my rod and they are awarded with that catch. Cheers

  14. Hi all We spent Sunday on the Bay. On board the mighty "YES DEAR" was myself the and 2 kids 12 and 10. Put in at 8.00am at port Botany swung around to Molli and fished for 1hr came up empty. Took off over to the refueling wharf anchored up burleyed hard and we all had bites but could not boat a fish Whislt we there we had a bit to eat as the worms where getting hungry. the decided it was time to go for a cruise so up anchor and head off for Kyle bay what a great day to be on the water. Passed a few fisho that did not look very happy i geuss no fish. At the turn of the tide we heaed for Bare Island anchored up lines in the water instant bites all round. The Boy (Crikey Ben) makes the call "I'm on". After @5 minutes and a hand from me there on the deck was his first Port Jackson @ 1m under 5kg man was he pumped lots of pats on the back and well done from Mum quick photos and back in the water he/she goes. After a few more bites but nothing hooked it is time to head back home after a great day on the Bay
