  5. Hello all, Im in the market for a boat and looking at the haines hunter 16r. It will be used for fishing only and fishing around botany in the bay and just outside the heads and the city .Wanted to know what i need to look for and what are they like handling and stability wise. What other boats should i look at that a similiar to the 16r. Cheers

    Important Lesson

here's an extract of what happened... Do i turn left here. That's right. Not right you idiot i said left i asked you if you said left and you said right.......
  8. You know when it's late at night and your trying to think of a name to use but you go blank! So i thought since your on a forum and your giving an opinion.......My2Cents would be an appropiate name.
  9. Congratulations mate,i'm sure she will bring lots of joy in your lives, as you said probably the best day of your life.
  10. Now that's what i call a snapper. Are you sure it wasn't your brothers burley that did the trick. Top catch.
  11. I'm using a size a 2 hook mostly on pillies(small chunks). Every time i go out to the bay we end up catching aleast 10 of them. On the other hand this year i can't catch any bream. Last year i was smashing them.
  12. crazyjohn great idea, crunch love the design, i'm all for it,i'd buy a couple. I wouldn't mind a spray jacket as i do quite abit of night fishing, keeps you dry and warm. Dont' forget the hat. Eventually i can see the complete wadrobe thing happening
  13. Decided to give today a miss cause of the weather. I had organised to go out tomorrow but just found out my grandmother just passed away.
  14. Got 3 day off so hopefully head out sunday or monday.probably end up going the usual place botany bay.Wouldn't mind going to the harbour but not familar with it yet. If i end up going botany on sunday i might thow a line on monday at the the harbour. Any suggestions where i could try?
  15. Dead set, you guys are given me a freaking headache. There are way to many options on the market these days. I'm also on the look out for a finder, mine ones had it, apparently it can't pick up any fish
  16. Only two of the trevallies were on SP,i'm not sure what type they were because i have no idea where i've put the packet and the rest were on squid and pillies. The 1st one was just off the bottom and the other would've been around the middle. Got love the fight on those things. Cheers George
  17. Hi guys, Had no plans to go out but my brohter arrived back from overseas on Tuesday after six months away, funny enough the 1st thing he said was lets go fishing. We organised to head out yesterday afternoon. We got to the boat ramp at about 3ish and headed out near Mol Point. By the time we got there the wind had calmed down and looking forward to hopefully a good session. Dropped in a few lines but nothing for about and 1 hour, next thing you know we hear the magic sound of the reel going,we bring the line up and there it is a trevally 38cm.Over the next 2 hours we ended up catching 11 trevallies between 35 and 44 cm. We also caught 4 flatheads between 38 and 56cm and 1 bream at 34cm. Probably the best session over the last 6 weeks. Now for the highlight of the night, i decided to give the SOFT PLASTICS a try.I tried before but my patience was running thin on them. On my 4 cast the rod bends like crazy and after a small fight there you go that was the 44cm trevally, absolutely stoked High fives all around. After a few more casts out another trevally, this time it was 41cm.Totally shocked and thinking to myself these things really work. Next time i head out i think i might use the SP more than pillies. Our session finished roughly at 8ish.We all agreed that we had our share. I'm also getting my new canopy done tomorrow so can't wait for that. Cheers George
  18. No comment. But he showed me quite a few rods and showed me the differences between them... For some strange reason i've always thought that there not as strong as 1 piece Might keep on looking.
  19. Hi guys, I'm looking at buying a rod at a tackle shop. i went yesterday and speaking to the guy he suggested at the maple evotech full grahphite 6'6 in length an 1 - 4kg in weight which is a two piece, was $300 down to $149.Now my question is should i get the 1 piece or 2 piece rod. Nothing me off more when you go to a tackle shop and they try sell you something they want to get rid off. Some of your thoughts on 2 piece rods would be appreciated Also there selling softies,3 packets for $20 bucks and 3 lures for $12 bucks and many more which i can't remember. cheers
  20. i'm still struggling. Even though i've caught the first one.

    Towing A Boat.

Sorry guys i didn't take into consideration the trailer and a few other options,i often go nelsons bay so i think i'm better upgrading to 4wd and that way i get to keep the MRS happy.

    Towing A Boat.

Thanks for your help guys,i think i might get rid of the commo and upgrade to the 4wd,my wife has been hounding me for a 4wd for a while now. I don't think i'm in her good books at the moment either after telling her that i'm upgrading my boat to a bigger boat.

    Towing A Boat.

Hi guys, Over the next week or so i'm about to purchase a boat that is 6 metres in length has a weight of roughly 1300.I've spoken to guys where i'm about to install a heavy duty tow bar and they say i wouldn't have a problem towing the boat. The car is a 92 model commo with irs it's a 6 cyl.Any of you guys have something similar or are you guys using a 4wd and would i have any problems towing it .
  25. Went out around 2ish and headed out to bare island but not much happening, got a call about 3.30 from one of the guys waiting to be picked up from the ramp,so headed back to the ramp picked him up and went to kurnell but that was crap.So we decided to try around moulinex point, managed to catch 2 flatties one was 48 and the other one sitting just over 50cm.After a while we left and ended up at the 3rd runway but not much happening.I Get a call from the wife saying that the little one has a high fever and we need to take him to the doctor,he's only 1 and the (wife doesn't drive )So there we are cutting our trip short(which didn't bother me)but before you know it as i was heading to the ramp i run out of petrol. What a day Just got back from the hospital and the little one has a middle ear and throat infection and to make matters worse he's teething. There goes my weekend of fishing.
