  1. Hi all i am an experienced bait and lure fisherman who would love to give fly fishing a go. I mostly fish a small lake in the blue mountains for brown and rainbow trout, can anyone suggest an ideal rod weight, the fish are mainly in the 1 to 2 lbs bracket and i will be fishing/wading from the shore. Any info would be much appreciated. ps info on line types and weights would be great! thanks in advance troutboy
  2. nothing but praise for the staff, great range of stock too!
  3. If your leader is rated at 8 lbs you should subtract approximately 30% for a potentially weak knot, taking your leader down to about 5 1/2 lbs then using the rule of 1/3 of line strength for your drag setting leaves you with approximately2lbs of drag or 1kg TROUTBOY
  4. I was in the shop just the other day, they have everything you could want especially when it comes to lures, awesome boats ,good selection of rods and plenty of room to move around. of course i had to spend some money and walked out with a few new goodies.Ill be back thats for sure.TROUTBOY
  5. I probably have about 15 to 20 rods of varying descriptions from beach to light spin but really only use 3 or 4 of these regularly. when it comes to lures i must admit to being a bit of a collector and find it very hard to walk out of a tackle shop without buying something.after all lures were designed to catch fisherman first TROUTBOY
  6. Too early to tell but i bought some of the ultrabite liquid and the instant bait to try and tempt some of the local trout. put the liquid on some small rapala hardbodies and found no noticable difference and while casting lures i had another rod in the water with the instant bait on it and it didnt get a touch in the two hours i was there.
