  2. Kelvin, how did they catch Longtail Tuna in the Harbour.. Interested to know. Anyway on topi, with the warmer water, the tropics could expand so I guess anything is possible....
  3. Yeah there is a whole group of fish and more come every day.... Its awesome
  4. Nice work! its interesting there is so many stories.... can Ross clear this one up???
  5. I think its interesting though, I mean if marlin take a run in the harbour then who knows? I know that you can rock fish off North Head if you can cast far enough for Marlin, or thats what a mate has said... The gardens comment about the sailfish is interesting. If the bait is right as you guys said, it could work.
  6. But I mean, if they clean up the harbour and stuff..... I just wonder if its ever going to be possible....
  7. Hi everyone, I was just wondering if it would be possible to catch a yellowfin tuna in the harbour. My friend asked me and I wasn't sure... I mean, if the currents, water temp, weather, bait and tides were all ok would they come? Is it possible? Just want to see what the raiders say.
  8. I fish at Rose Bay Wharf a bit, we have seen massive blackfish, tons of Jackets, and a guy has pulled in kingies and tailor. He didn't cast far either. Its a great place to fish and there is tons of squid as well!
  9. Well, Rose Bay Wharf you can get almost anything on average prawns. I have seen a guy pull in a 60cm kingie on prawns, and there are numerous amounts of squid around as well. The baitfish are also prolific! Leatherjackets are under the wharf (you can see them!) as well as some decent blackfish. Flatheads are also good. However, the ferry goes past so unless the tides are right ect. you can get a bit stuck, pulling in every 10 mins. I'm trying to find more spots and hopefully I will... Henners
  10. Thanks a lot guys you really have helped!
  11. Have tried with ok results for bait fish with a small hook and mince. How do you guys do it and is there a better way?
  12. Just want to have a great time on tailor or something? ANy tips?
  13. Thanks guys, I am sad about the jewie tho Anyway, the trick is to put a heavy beach sinker with pilchards on gangs in the gutter..... Easy to learn and do as well. !!
  14. What a King! Just got a boat and am going hunting soon on it.... Any idea's where to catch the squid??
  15. Hi everyone, Just signed up and this is my first report. A few weekends ago, went out to Dee WHy on a charter to go for Salmon and Jewies of the beach. Cast out, adn WHAM! Something big grabs onto the gangs. Start reeling in, light drag, no line pulled out, thought must be a tailor. GUiding the line in on my Alvey, and suddenly, twenty metres of line rips off the reel and burns my fingers . I look down, and the spool is tangled. After hurrying to untangle it, thinking the fish must be off, I finally start pulling again. I got him in the surf, and he takes another run. Finally get him in, and after a 5 minute fight, an 80cm, 4kg Salmon is at my feet. . Very Happy. Had a jewie 2 but he busted off. DOes anyone know a good spot to catch yakka's. My spot has been banned by the fisheries, so I need to find a landbased spot for my bait! henners ps will post pics once i get them off the camera!
