  6. Yep, for not much success. I haven't caught one but know people who have. Have been busted off 8 times tough. I suspect sharks..... I would suggest usesing lives because the amount of pickers there is ridiculus, also at night there are a hell of a lot of tailor. Either way give it a go.... Henners
  7. Are you landbased? Well done!
  8. Hey everyone, Went out with Dad and zenman for a fish for kingies yesterday. No yakka's, alll we had was fresh squid. Went to spot X. 1 pinkie, bust off by a decent tailor. Moved on to clifton, on the way saw a bonito school but they dived before we could flick a slice. Moved to a flathead spot for no result. Went to clifton, squid strips are out, no result. FInally went back to spot x and caught a 60cm flattie. Missed a couple as well. The water temps were really down today, really cold. BAd conditions.... Henners P.S despite my pessimistic report it was a gr8 day
  9. Flushing fish cost 1c. Surgery cost $200. A new fish costs $10. Hmmm which would i choose .
  10. How every1, i was just wondering are there any spots around those too places. If so what can you catch and whats the best way too do it? Henners
  11. If you want barra, I would advise (from a charter experience, watched what the guy did) getting a cast net and trying to get mullet. The barra luv em'. Also they can take lures. A barra is ard to hook tho, cos he will suck a lot. Also, a lot of other things will take barra baits
  12. I would say rod because easy to wind and hold, handlines just are confusing.
  13. We had that happen at the real Shark Bay (at Dirk Hartog Island, WA). Snapper would hit, hit, hit, hit and ten you'd be on. Sometimes it was first bite, sometimes seventh.
  14. How big is ur boat? want too see if we can et 2 the fad
  15. Workshops sound awesome. We don't know how to rig whole live squid OR use our downrigger. What a good start for kingies.
  16. Then bottom fishing or salmon off the beach!
  17. Tommorow: Playing tennis Saturday: Surfing, beac fishing, and having some mates around Sunday: At my mates Monday:
  18. Looks similar to my Javelin Fish....
  19. The ROse Bay one is narrow and long, but has great parking. ROseville also isn't a million iles away and thats nice and wide.
  20. we r gonna have a drift ther for squid.... Which side did u drift cos i have seen loads on the boatshed side.
  21. Still, u see my point. The only things that kill humans for the sake of it are crocs. My friend went surfing and had a 1.5 metre tiger cruise past, it didn't take a second glance at him. It didn't care. When I was diving a half a metre shark cruised past. You are more likely to die from a cocunut to the head than a shark attack.
  22. Sharks are relatively common here. In Australia, statistics show that you are always within 500 metres of a shark. The beach I swim at (Freshwater), has a local shark fisherman who pulls in some pretty big ones of the beach in the gutters. The flags are generally put in front of sandbars with gutters in front. Honestly, unless a shark is really, really, really hungry he isn't gonna eat you. And think about it, with no commercial fishing, its not like recreational anglers are taking tons of fish. So a shark has plenty of food. Bull sharks generally go to the gladesville bridge are in search of the masses of fish that congeregate around this structure. Remember, sharks do not naturally eat humans. I see people tubing all the time up in the Harbour. ANd they have not been killed! Henners
  23. GO the electric chair! U could die on that thing
  24. Looks like a trumpeter of some kind. I have got them as by catch for yakka's.
